MONDAY (6/22)
- Jon & Kate Plus Eight (TLC, 9pm): Jon & Kate make some life-changing decisions. Well, Kate technically made the decision; Jon just didn’t want to argue.
- Charm School (VH1, 9pm): Season premiere. “Former contestants from VH1 reality shows work for charity (and a chance to win $100,000).” No good deed comes without incentives.
- Make It or Break It (ABC Family, 9pm): Series premiere. “In this drama focusing on the lives of teen gymnasts who strive to make it to the Olympics, new girl Emily Kmetko begins training alongside veterans who are both impressed with and threatened by her.” This could bring a whole new definition to the term “punch front.”
- Run’s House (MTV, 10pm): “The family rallies around JoJo after he’s charged with marijuana possession.” This whole time they had a connection within the home.

Watch Sharon Osbourne Go Jerry Springer on a Charm School Contestant
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Video
Although we’re still not sure whether Sharon Osbourne is a hair-puller, one thing was definitely made clear last night: the Osbourne matriarch will not tolerate insults about her family.
During yesterday’s Rock of Love Charm School reunion special, the 56-year-old did a fairly decent job keeping her interjections to a minimum while Megan Hauserman blathered about getting her dog fixed. Unfortunately, one of Sharon’s remarks didn’t sit well with the former contestant.
After hearing that she “shouldn’t be allowed to breed,” Megan told Osbourne that the only thing she’s managed to do as a celebrity was take care of her ‘brain dead rock star husband.’ (You can cue the video to the 1:20 mark now.)

Sharon Osbourne Schools a Charm Contestant
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, Gossip, Rumors
Police are officially investigating an incident which occurred on the set of VH1’s Rock of Love Charm School. According to reports, host Sharon Osbourne has been accused of attacking one of the contestants on the show.
That’s not very charming.
A police spokesman had this to say: “We know a battery incident is alleged to have occurred on a taping of a reality show Sharon Osbourne hosts.” Do tell!
So far, there’s no confirmation whether or not a police report has been filed, and reps for Osbourne aren’t commenting on the incident.
The kafuffle is said to have occurred between Osbourne and contestant Megan Hauserman, 26. Evidently, the contestant called Osbourne’s husband, rocker Ozzy Osbourne, a “brain-dead rock star” while on camera. Hauserman was booted from the show early on, but returned for a reunion special.
Strangely enough, Hauserman was expelled from the house for kicking a fellow contestant. Upon booting her, Osbourne said “the one thing I cannot stand is violence.”

MONDAY (11/24)
- Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm): After ten weeks, it all ends tonight. Sadly, I can’t even remember the names of the first two eliminated.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30): “Sam invites boyfriend Owen (James Tupper) for dinner to meet her parents, but Owen and Howard don’t hit it off.” Seems Howard doesn’t approve of his relationship with Anne Heche either.
- Valkyrie: The Plot to Kill Hitler (History, 10pm): “Recalling Operation Valkyrie, a failed plot devised by German officers to assassinate Adolf Hitler.” By choosing this documentary over the Tom Cruise version, you’ll be able to save a few more bucks for Christmas.
- The Hills (MTV, 10pm): “Audrina confronts Lauren and Justin after rumors circulate that the two hooked up.” By “confront,” we mean Audrina has them refer to the television interviews she’s conducted on the topic.

MONDAY (11/10)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck chances upon his ex-flame (Jordana Brewster) and embellishes his status in life to impress her.” We’re talking about a girl who starred in D.E.B.S.. He shouldn’t try too hard.
- Prison Break (FOX, 9pm): “Gretchen gives Michael the rest of the bird book, but he suffers another seizure after deciphering it.” That pretty much sums up my feelings about bird books as well.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30): “Sam is sentenced to community service, where she meets a troubled young woman (Mary-Kate Olsen) and decides to help turn her life around.” Sam has now become the better-looking version of Earl Hickey.
- 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm): “Jinger takes her driving test; the family celebrates Michelle’s birthday and responds to viewer questions.” Uhh, I have a question. Jinger? Seriously?

Project Runway Spinoff Coming to Lifetime Too
Posted by Jacci Lewis Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Bravo, Cable, Cable/Satellite, Editorial, News
Ever wish you could know more about the designer’s models on Project Runway? Lifetime thinks you do. USA Today reports that Lifetime is planning to pair its newly acquired Project Runway with a half-hour spin-off called Models of the Runway which will focus on them as people, not just living clothes hangers. (The model paired up with the winning designer on Project Runway also wins a modeling contract and a spread in Elle magazine.)
Project Runway is expected to move over to the top-rated women’s cable network, Lifetime, in November. Bravo will air its fifth and probably final Project Runway season in July, though the move is being contested in court by Bravo parent company NBC. Project Runway has been Bravo’s top hit.

Reality Recap - The Best & Worst of June
Posted by David L. Williams Categories: Reality, ABC, FOX, HBO, MTV, NBC, Hell's Kitchen, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, Editorial, Features

Now that we’ve said goodbye to June and its 30 days of weddings, trips to the beach, and the slow, crippling realization that it’s still a long, long time until Lost comes back, why don’t we take a few minutes and look back at the best and worst of June reality TV? Nope, that was a rhetorical question. Yes, I know, there are lots of reasons not to look back, and yet I’m going to do it anyway.
Oh, and it doesn’t really fit here because it’s not a reality show, but Flight of the Conchords on HBO is pretty hilarious. I don’t really have enough to say about it to write a full column, obviously, but it’s definitely worth checking out. Okay, here we go…

This Week’s Channel Surfing Thoughts
Posted by David L. Williams Categories: Comedy, Drama, Reality, ABC, Cable, HBO, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Survivor, The Office, The Sopranos, Editorial, Features
Otherwise known as thoughts I’ve had about the last few days of TV that aren’t long enough individually to make an entire article…
WOO-HOO, THEY LOST! – I lamented the possibility of Charla and Mirna winning The Amazing Race: (not really) All Stars, and they didn’t. They came in last (or third, really) and it was all…kinda lackluster. I didn’t want C&M to win, and I wanted the Beauty Queens to win, but they didn’t either. Eric & Danielle (aka, Team Not Charla & Mirna) won and their fakey relationship and the love between them will, I’m sure, flourish like a sunflower and I’m feeling underwhelmed. Then again, I felt underwhelmed most of the season, so I guess this is a fitting finale. By the way, Race Producers (and I know that you read all of my work), let’s try to make sure in the future that you not design the race legs so that the decisions made by the racers in the first thirty-five minutes of the episode don’t matter at all. I know you want to keep things close, but that’s just annoying.
BEST OF? REALLY, SNL? REALLY?? – Saturday Night Live was not new this week, but instead had their best of the 2006/2007 season episode. There are a couple of things wrong with this. The first is that they still have a few more episodes left. I’m not sure why they felt the need to jump the gun on this one, but maybe they were just tired of rerunning the Peyton Manning episode. Just a tip, NBC: maybe you should wait until the season is over before you start doing a “Best Of” episode. And this leads me to the other thing that’s wrong with this episode: just because you’ve chosen the best example of a recurring sketch, that doesn’t necessarily mean that what you’ve chosen is any good. I know that a lot of people like to hate on SNL on the internet (I believe the phrase “Is this show still on?” is a common “joke” (ironic quotes firmly in place)), but I can’t fully hate the show yet because there are always funny moments every week, and that’s why God invented TiVo (that has to be invented by God, right? Humans are not that good). But, SNL, “Deep House Dish” and that Bronx talk show … they’re not funny. Really not ever. And I really like Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Keenan Thompson. Those sketches, though, are just … ugh. Oh, and finally, SNL went online to have people cast votes on what their favorite digital short of the year was (and maybe the whole episode should have just been digital shorts). Did anybody really think “Dick in a Box” wouldn’t win?

I Can’t Figure Out Charm School
It’s rare that I regularly watch a show I don’t fully understand. Now, I’m not talking about “Lost,” here; I get “Lost.” Or at the very least, I get the purpose behind the show, the type of show it is, the rules of the world of the show, etc. “Lost” is a serialized drama that has sci-fi elements to it. I get “Lost.” I’m utterly befuddled by “Flavor of Love Girls Charm School.”
I’ve seen the first three episodes (and the little preview special) for “Charm School,” and … I have no idea what the show is about. They’ve taken some of the contestants from the two seasons of “Flavor of Love” and … I’m going to let VH1’s website explain it for us:
“Thirteen of your favorite breakout stars from “Flavor of Love” seasons one and two are back for some heated competition. Living as a group, learning as a group and out for themselves, these former Flavorettes will be rigorously trained in proper etiquette and manners before competing in challenges to determine their poise and grace under pressure.”
