60s-Era Sesame Street Episodes Not Meant for Kids

In celebration of forty years of Sesame Street, some of the early-season episodes are being released on DVD - just don’t show them to your kids. A disclaimer on the packaging explains: “These early Sesame Street episodes are intended for grown-ups, and may not suit the needs of today’s preschool child.”
But don’t get it wrong - from the very beginning, Sesame Street was designed just for kids. So, what gives?

Celebs Celebrate 40 Years of Sesame Street

Celebrities are lining up to appear on the PBS children’s series Sesame Street. Though the viewers probably aren’t in the target audience for many of these A-list stars, Sesame Street holds a special place in many of our hearts. The series is celebrating its 40th season on TV, and it’s going to get a year to remember.
So far, the guest list for the season includes huge names like Jake Gyllenhaal, Adam Sandler, Cameron Diaz, Eva Longoria-Parker, Ricky Gervais, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Hugh Jackman, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Matthew Fox. First Lady Michelle Obama will also be putting in an appearance.

It’s hard to pay attention to anything else when Ryan Seacrest and Simon Cowell are picking at each other on American Idol, or when one of the Idol contestants is badly belting out a tune. But for the sake of your children…maybe you should at least get DVR? You’re never gonna believe this one, folks.
Twenty-five year old Sheila Brooks, mother of five, was watching the popular show while her three-year-old daughter almost drowned to death in the family bathtub. That really puts the elimination of Alaina Whitaker into perspective, right? Brooks has not been charged with any offense, though the child was taken to the hospital and placed under critical condition.

Britney’s Former Bodyguard Witness to Nudity, Drugs

The ongoing custody drama between Britney Spears and Kevin Federline just got slightly more interesting. A former bodyguard of Spears, Tony Barretto, reported to court today. He was prepared to testify on the questionable things he saw behind closed doors.
Although he was never called to the stand, Baretto, 28, submitted his detailed accounts into evidence. The former employee—who could bear a grudge against Spears for being abruptly fired—claims he witnessed acts of ‘nudity, drug use and safety issues involving the children’. Unfortunately these accusations are extremely vague (and something we could have all guessed already). Let’s hope the juicy details are leaked soon!
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only bad news for Brit today. Her lawyer, Laura Wasser, has elected to drop her client and pass her over to a new set of hands. Apparently big bucks aren’t worth the headache.
