MONDAY (10/20)

  • Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Roland seethes at the treatment he has gotten from the gang since he lost the transcribing device in Las Vegas.” Thanks to his fine work, this show has just been dragged out longer than it needed to be.
  • Gossip Girl (CW, 9pm):  “Vanessa blackmails Blair, so Blair retaliates by asking Chuck to seduce Vanessa.” Sounds like somebody’s got some cruel intentions...
  • 17 Kids and Counting (TLC, 10pm):  “A look at how the thrifty Duggars save money on their clothing, food and heating bills.” Thankfully, I don’t plan on shopping for a family of 17, so there’s a lot more for me.
  • CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm):  “A murder occurs in a trendy fashion boutique and during the investigation Horatio realizes that Julia is becoming increasingly unstable and volatile.” Had he taken his glasses off, he could have seen this coming sooner.

Constantine’s Album Release

Constantine MaroulisThough many people are already looking forward to a new season of , some may still remember the contestants from season four. , country diva, walked away with the Idol crown…but that doesn’t mean fourth-place finisher isn’t still making music. His sultry eyes and classic croon won over female fans years ago, and his good looks won him a spot on CBS’s The Bold and the Beautiful. But, can he win over music fans? Maroulis has released a self-titled debut album, twelve pop-rock songs that showcase his singing range. So far, reviews aren’t all that favorable. There is no question Constantine can sing – he made it past Simon Cowell, right? – but a good album is often about more than singing. The album’s final track, Midnight Radio, includes shout-outs to famed singers like Yoko Ono, Tina Turner…and himself.

Constantine Maroulis Takes it to Broadway

Constantine MaroulisConstantine Maroulis, finalist from season 4 of American Idol, will be joining the cast of The Wedding Singer on Broadway. According to Playbill.com, negotiations are under way for Maroulis to join the musical, although the character has not yet been announced. Maroulis was last seen squinting and pouting on Idol, but seemed to do little after that, except for showing up in the Idol audience (still squinting and pouting). Prior to taking on the Idol competition, Maroulis graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music, appeared in indie films and off-Broadway shows. His highest profile gig was touring with Rent. While competing on American Idol, it was revealed that he was the lead singer for a hard rock band, but left the band to try his hand at Idol stardom. He will join The Wedding Singer on September 8th.
