Dancing with the Stars' Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough

Hoping to drag out their romance fifteen minutes of fame as long as possible, ’ Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough decided to take their partnership to YouTube. Although the real-life couple was booted off the ABC series in Week 7, the two have not yet stopped dancing. In fact, the lovebirds apparently still think about what could have been.

In a 6.5-minute clip (which can be seen after the jump), the former dance partners deliver a dream-like version of the Foxtrot they never had a chance to perform. They also attempt to poke fun at themselves while spending a nauseating amount of time in each other’s arms.

David Cook Going Off the Singles’ Market?

David CookSeventh season winner David Cook won hearts with his edgy look and sound, gaining notice early for his self confidence and unique stylings. But this single guy may not stay that way for much longer.

Last week, enjoyed a dinner date with second Idol season competitor Kimberly Caldwell (eliminated in seventh place). Don’t remember the name? You might also recognize Kim as the bubbly blonde who hosts on the TV Guide channel, notably the show Idol Tonight (a series dedicated to breaking down Idol performances and interviewing contestants). Cook recently told Regis and Kelly that “we’ll probably hang out again.” (You can see video of the two of them together after the jump.)

Don’t worry ladies, one date does not a committed guy make. You might still have a chance.

Will Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough Get Their Own Show?

Dancing with the Stars, Shannon Elizabeth and Derek HoughAlthough their romance was only confirmed less than a month ago, there’s already talk about a future reality project for Dancing with the Stars’ Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough.  Apparently someone thinks their relationship actually has a future!

According to Extra, another former DWTS competitor is interested in following the two lovebirds as they pursue their other interests.  The production company belonging to and her husband may soon have cameras focused on Shannon as she tries to land acting gigs and on Derek as he works on his music career.  (He and Mark Ballas have their own band called Almost Amy.)  The show would, of course, also feature the couple’s blossoming romance.

Seriously.  Shouldn’t the Spice Girl wait to see where this whole thing goes before she makes any business decisions like that?  Quite honestly, I though Sabrina Bryan and Ballas had a better chance of staying together…and they just broke up.

Here come the newlyweds first episode

Throw , The Newlywed Game and those gag-inducing eHarmony commercials into a blender and what do you get? You get ABC’s new “romantic comedy” reality show, . ABC already airs Wife Swap, Supernanny and The Bachelor—did we really need yet another show to convince skittish singles to flee into the woods?

The premise of Here Come the Newlyweds is fairly straightforward. Seven recently married couples live together and compete for a nest egg worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The season will air over six episodes. As ABC’s website claims, “Each couple faces a variety of mental and physical challenges which will test the love and passion they have for one another as well as their competitive spirit.”  At the end of each episode, one couple is voted out by the others. The last marriage standing wins the grand prize.

Big Brother 9: Secret Lovers Nominated For Eviction

Big Brother If you’ve read my past two blogs on , you may remember me likening the subscription-based 24/7 Big Brother house feed to watching paint dry. My information was based entirely on past seasons. (No one needed to see an uncut version of Chicken George in BB season 1.)  Based on what I’ve been able to pinch off the internet for free this season though, boy was I wrong. In fact, it appears the most interesting things that happen in that house are too naughty to show on network TV.

First though lets talk about what happened on Night 3 in the PG-rated version on . The CliffsNotes version is that pair Amanda and Alex nominated Jen and Parker and Allison and Ryan for eviction.  This after Jen and Parker decided to tell everyone that Jen and Ryan are dating and have been for 9 months. They did it because they feared Allison would spill the secret first. In the end, all this dumb bit of strategy did was prove that both couples are a liability and that Jen is a loud-mouth pain in the butt.

Big Brother 9: Exploring Co-Dependent Relationships

Big BrotherBig Brother 9: ‘Til Death Do Us Part premiered last night on CBS and either I’m desperate for entertainment or it actually looks like this might be an interesting season.  First off,  the concept of the game has shifted some. used to a be a random mix of people, stuck in an ugly house, cut-off from the outside world and surrounded by dozens of cameras and microphones that recorded every excruciating second.  They lied, cheated and formed unlikely alliances to survive but ultimately it was every man or woman for themselves.

They’re still in an ugly house, surrounded by cameras and microphones but now the game is all about the power of two. Each of the 16 house guests in Big Brother 9 had to undergo extensive personality testing. That information was used to romantically match them up with another house guest who could be their so-called “soulmate”. The new couples will sleep in the same bed, compete together to win “head of household” or “power couple” as it is now called. The couples will be evicted together or, for the final two, win together. The prize for surviving 3 months confined with people you’ve potentially grown to hate is $500,000.

Adding to the drama, four of the house guests know each other intimately. Sharon and Jacob, both 23, dated for 12 years until Jacob cheated on her. Neither knew the other would be in the Big Brother house. Jen and Ryan, both from Columbus, OH, live together and have been dating for 9 months. They DID know the other would be in the house but have to pretend to be strangers to avoid eviction.

Reality News: ‘WWE’, ‘Big Brother’, ‘Dancing with the Stars’, ‘Survivor’

Friday Night SmackdownAfter ten years with the CW/UPN organizations, the wrestlers of the WWE are now in search of a new home.  - a decent ratings earner for the network - wasn’t apparently considered worthy of its renewal price.  Displeased with recent negotiations, World Wrestling Entertainment has started shopping its product around town.

Although the loss of the show will now create a two-hour void in ‘s weekend lineup, the network will now have a place to shelve their experiments gone wrong (e.g. Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants).  Or maybe they can use the spot to air marathons of or Beauty and the Geek? 

Whatever they ultimately do, they have until Sept. 12th to figure it out.
