The Official Dancing with the Stars 8 Cast

Dancing with the Stars

The official lineup for was announced tonight during ABC’s Sunday lineup.

And while tabloids have leaked erroneous names over the past few years, it appears they’ve rounded up better sources this time around. It also turns out that Donny Osmond wasn’t lying when he said he was lying about competing. (Get that?)

For the show’s eighth installment, we’ll once again start off with an uneven 13 contestants. (This meant a Week 1 double-elimination last fall.) We’ll also see the series’ youngest performer to date. (Even younger than Season 7’s Cody Linley.) You can check out the full list of names after the jump.

The Latest Dancing with the Stars 8 Casting Rumors

Steve-O

Later this weekend, viewers of ABC’s Sunday night programming will be the first to learn the network’s biggest casting secret. That’s when the lineup for Dancing with the Stars 8 will finally be announced.

Despite some erroneous (and a few accurate) rumors over the past few years, the tabloids haven’t stopped speculating over the highly-anticipated lineups. Although Kim Kardashian, Lance Bass and Toni Braxton were correctly guessed last season, Paula Abdul Ty Murray were not.

So far, we’ve already heard Donny Osmond announce, then deny, that he would be competing this March. We’ve also learned that Cindy McCain was interested but that Kevin Federline wasn’t. Who else is reportedly in the wings?

Dancing with the Stars News: Donny Osmond, Kevin Federline

Donny and Marie OsmondUPDATE Donny now denies he’s doing the show. But how can he explain what he already said? (You can see that video after the jump.)

Despite the unexpected events during the actual season, DWTS has actually become quite predictable.

Over the previous seven installments, we’ve seen the producers test several different types of rivalries. (And I don’t just mean amongst the professionals.) So far, we’ve had the married couple (Harry Hamlin competed one season after Lisa Rinna) and the former coworkers (90210‘s Ian Ziering/Jennie Garth and ‘NSYNC’s /Lance Bass). Now the show is going for the siblings.

Earlier today, (accidentally?) revealed that he is set to compete on Dancing with the Stars 8. On Tuesday’s episode of The Bonnie Hunt Show, the 51-year-old admitted “let the cat out of the bag” when pressed about a possible appearance. Donny’s participation will come three seasons after his sister, Marie, placed 3rd on the reality show. It’s not known at this time who the “Puppy Love” singer will be paired up with.

Cindy McCain Will Not Be Dancing with the Stars

John and Cindy McCainUPDATE: John McCain has confirmed that his wife was in talks with ABC.

Although has made his share of television appearances, the former presidential candidate apparently likes to keep his family in the late night spotlight.

According to the New York Post, , was recently in talks with the producers of Dancing with the Stars. Discussions about the show’s eighth season began sometime before Thanksgiving.

Unfortunately for McCain supporters (and the chatty ladies of The View), Cindy will not be in the running for the mirror ball trophy. Even though she “wanted to do it very badly,” a inside source claims the Arizona senator was the one who put an end to his wife’s hopes. Reps for neither McCain or ABC would confirm the report.

will return Monday, March 9th @ 8:00.
