Taye Diggs Guests on Grey’s Anatomy, Possible Spinoff

Taye DiggsListen up ladies. If you were sad to see Taye Diggs’ series Day Break canceled, he will be returning to the small screen soon enough. And he may be sticking around longer this time. Here’s how it’s going to go down. Diggs will guest star on Grey’s Anatomy this season—in the Addison-centric episode we mentioned yesterday. This episode is the litmus to see if a spinoff series featuring Kate Walsh’s character will fly. The press is calling this a “back-door pilot” for the spinoff series. ABC, of course, has no details on who Diggs will be playing, nor have they confirmed that the spinoff will happen. The May sweeps episode will, however, have Addison facing a tough decision about whether or not to leave Seattle. Despite being serious eye candy, Diggs is a good actor and it’s nice to see ABC giving him a second try after the ratings fizzled for Day Break. I tuned in to Day Break to see Diggs, but couldn’t get past that Groundhog’s Day premise. Welcome back to television, handsome prince.

Lost If you’ve felt a void in your life for a couple of months, you’re about to feel whole again. That’s right, Lost returns this week—and get ready for a no-repeat ride all the way until the season finale. Season three of Lost had a huge split, in an effort to produce two chunks of the show, without reruns. To cushion the loss, ABC brought us Day Break, which was promptly canceled after just a handful of episodes. So we sat. And waited. And read our fill of Lost rumors and goodies online. And here we are—finally, February has arrived and we are ready to get this ball rolling again. While the loss was tough, and many were disappointed by the “mini-season” approach, fans of the series can now be assured that their beloved island drama is back and won’t lose any momentum until the season closes. Don’t miss it—this go around, Lost will air 16 new episodes on Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m.

Lost OK folks, now that Lost is on hiatus for 13 weeks, it’s time to curl up in the fetal position and wait for the series to return in February. Never fear… ABC will be spoon-feeding small morsels of the hit show to fans during these long cold weeks of darkness. Day Break, starring Taye Diggs, will be taking the place of Lost, but viewers of Day Break should be on the lookout for what ABC is calling “Lost Moments.” These 30-second clips will show scenes from upcoming episodes and just may reveal, in small bites, what’s ahead for 2007. Of course, ABC won’t reveal what time the clips will be aired during Day Break, thus encouraging viewers to tune in for this new Groundhog’s Day-esque drama. If you don’t happen to watch Day Break, ABC will include the promos on ABC.com the next day.
