Law & Order: SVU Assigns Newest ADA

When Law & Order: SVU resumes next fall, a new ADA will be working to cover Stabler and Benson’s butts.
In the show’s recent finale, controversy - not a faked death - forced Casey Novak out of her job. Her departure means Season 10 will be introducing One Tree Hill‘s Michaela McManus, the latest female (behind Stephanie March and Diane Neal) to fill the role.
Even though SVU also said goodbye to Det. Chester Lake (Adam Beach) this May, NBC currently has no plans to find his replacement.

More Departures for CSI and Law & Order Franchises
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, CBS, NBC, News
Earlier this week, we told you CSI‘s Gary Dourdan would soon be saying goodbye to his role as Warrick Brown. Now CBS will be looking to plug another hole in its hit franchise by next year.
According to TV Guide, actress Khandi Alexander is set to place her sunglasses down shortly. Alexander, who has played Alexx Woods since 2002, will be leaving her medical examiner post by the end of CSI: Miami‘s sixth season.
Producers are expected to refill Khandi’s role.
Meanwhile, NBC is also in the middle of its second departure this week. Just days after hearing Diane Neal would be replaced as A.D.A, we learning that Adam Beach will also be departing the Law & Order: SVU family. Since Beach was only contractually obligated for one year, this latest news doesn’t come as a huge surprise. He and the producers mutually agreed not to exercise his second season option.
SVU‘s creators do not plan to find Adam’s replacement.

Casting Change for Law & Order: SVU
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip, News
Two months ago, we told you that Jesse L. Martin would be leaving his role on Law & Order after nine years on the show. Now it looks like Dick Wolf will be busy with another exit from his L&O family.
TV Guide is reporting that Diane Neal, Law & Order: SVU‘s Casey Novak, will be departing as well. Neal took over in 2003 when the drama’s last ADA was supposedly killed. (It was later revealed that Alex Cabot was actually placed in the Witness Protection Program.)
Although it’s unclear if Neal, too, will go down in a blaze of glory, she is expected to be around for this season’s finale. Casting for her replacement has already begun.
