MONDAY (8/31)

  • Jon & Kate Plus Eight (TLC, 9pm):  “Kate and the boys experience the cowboy lifestyle during a trip to a dude ranch, while Jon and the girls have a scavenger hunt at home.” Despite hours of searching, the girls still couldn’t find Daddy’s shame.
  • Real Chance of Love 2: Back in the Saddle (VH1, 9pm):  “The ladies vent their frustration in a wrestling match in which the winners receive dates with the guys.” The losers will then be asked to wrestle again...for the guys.

More to Love

(Make sure to check out TV Envy’s Programming Schedule.)

MONDAY (7/27)

  • The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm):  “Amy is jealous when she realizes Ben is going on a summer road trip, while she has to continue working and going to school.” I think her previous summer was eventful enough.
  • The Bachelorette (ABC, 8pm):  Season finale. “Jillian’s choice is down to Ed or Kiptyn in the season finale, taped or Hawaii’s Big Island, where she has outdoor dates with the two, who are also grilled by her family.” Let’s be real: A name like Kiptyn should never be paired with a name like Jillian.
  • Making His Band (MTV, 10pm):  Series premiere. “ begins his search for talented singers and musicians to back him up on an upcoming tour.” Behind every weak singer is a strong support system.
  • Dating in the Dark (ABC, 10pm):  “The singles look in their dates’ luggage before spending time with them in the darkroom.” It would be nice to know if anyone was packing heat before the lights went off.

Making the Band…without Danity Kane?

During last season’s finale of Making with the Band 4, Diddy surprised everyone following by making two shocking decisions. (Okay - we could have probably seen the first one coming.) Even before layoffs had become the norm, the girl group’s producer axed Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods after a very uncomfortable meeting. (You can relive that moment after the jump.)

Casting Corner: In Plain Sight, Kath & Kim, Medium and More

Kim KardashianMaya Rudolph

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:

CSI: Miami: No matter what you think of Diddy, you can’t deny the mans’ diversity. Who else could front several reality shows, star in A Raisin in the Sun and take on David Caruso? According to Entertainment Tonight, the mogul is scheduled to air in two episodes of the CBS drama next year. He will play a federal prosecutor (yeah, I know) who has a personal and professional beef with Horatio’s team.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta

(You can view TV Envy’s Fall Television Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY (10/6)

  • Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm):  “Alan tries dating two women at the same time.” I remember when Ducky was pining over just Molly Ringwald. He’s all growns up now.
  • Prison Break (FOX, 9pm):  “Sara learns something disturbing about Michael.” She realizes that if it weren’t for his steely gaze and tattoos, Michael would just be your average white guy.
  • I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  Series finale. “The final contestants train with Marcus Buckingham and are interviewed by Diddy.” If they mistakenly admit their loyalty for McCain, Diddy will retreat back under the covers.
  • Exiled (MTV, 10:30pm):  “A hip hop star’s daughter is sent to the island nation Vanuatu to live in a bug-filled jungle in the shadow of an active volcano.” Had she wasted her youth watching Survivor: Vanuatu, she would have been prepared.

MONDAY (8/18)

  • I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  “Two members from each team must go to Paris and convince a model that Diddy saw in a magazine to come back to NYC with them and pose for .” If you want to flatter a girl, don’t send one assistant - send four.
  • The Hills (MTV, 10pm): Season 4 premiere. I’m ashamed to say that I know what a ‘Lo’ is.
  • Paranormal State (A&E, 10pm):  “A family in Shrewsbury, Mass., claims to have been living with a spirit for 40 years, and all but one family member believe the spirit is malicious.” If they’ve managed to live with it for 40 years, how bad could this spirit possibly be?
  • Date My Ex: Jo & Slade (Bravo, 10pm):  “Juvenile tomfoolery back at he house irks Slade and may mean the expulsion of a suitor.” Had this been simply adult tomfoolery, things would have been fine.

  • Teen Choice 2008 (FOX, 8pm):  “ hosts the 10th annual gala honoring achievement in entertainment, sports and fashion.” If kids are wearing things from the 80’s, could that really be considered an achievement in fashion?
  • I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm):  Series premiere. “Applicants compete to be Diddy’s next personal assistant.” The more babies you have, the more umbrella holders you need.

WTF?: Danity Kane on Nashville Star

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories:

When the words ‘pop goes country’ are uttered, images of Kristy Lee Cook singing just about anything on run through my mind.

So imagine my confusion when I saw this clip of Danity Kane performing on . Couldn’t they have at least attempted to change up their song a bit? Wasn’t that the whole theme of last night’s competition? Were the girls only comfortable sticking to something they’ve practiced a thousand times over on Making the Band? But really - why was a group formed by Diddy on a show called Nashville Star to begin with?
