Miley Cyrus Taking Flack for Sexy Teen Choice Performance
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Award Shows, Music, Prime Time, Specials, FOX, Gossip, Video
Miley Cyrus, 16, sang “Party in the USA” when she performed at the Teen Choice Awards - but what she sounded like is not the issue days after the performance. Her clothing and sexy dance moves during the number have ignited an online controversy.
Miley’s short shorts and ice cream truck pole dance have been regarded as questionable by forum posters on popular sites like YouTube and Twitter. Neither her publicist nor the Disney Channel has commented on the public debate.
Those Disney kids sure do grow up fast. Vanessa Hudgens has more nude pics surfacing, and now the network’s cute country goddess is dancing on poles.

Catching up on missed ABC programs will soon become that much easier.

Jonas Premieres Tomorrow Night: Do You Care?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Cable, Gossip
Disney’s Jonas, a sitcom starring the Jonas Brothers, is scheduled to premiere Saturday night. I know what you’re thinking: is it possible for Disney to squeeze in more televised coverage of this trio? Evidently, it is.
But I expect it to be a flop, and that’s not a commentary on their acting abilities. I’d like to present the evident which supports this theory: Disney-viewing kids are, first, already Jonas saturated. They’re also too busy keeping up with Hannah Montana re-runs to worry about that many new shows - and Disney’s summer schedule is always so chock-full of made-for-TV movies it’s hard to realize they actually have serialized programming still running. The Jonas Brothers have also already proved they don’t have Miley Cyrus-like clout, as their movie performed below expectations at the box office.

Judge Rules in Favor of Family Guy
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Animation, Comedy, Prime Time, FOX, Family Guy, Gossip
FOX’s animated Family Guy is not guilty of copyright infringement, per court ruling, for a song parody featured in one of the episodes.
The episode offered up a new version of Disney’s “When You Wish Upon a Star,” which subsequently launched a lawsuit from the major corporation in 2007. The ditty originally appeared in the 1940 flick Pinocchio. The Family Guy version, “I Need a Jew,” was perhaps a little less family-friendly…but it wasn’t illegal.
Despite the content of the song - “anti-Semitic lyrics” - a U.S. District Judge ruled that the lyrics of the song and tone of the piece was “strikingly different” from the original version. Since winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song after its film debut, “When You Wish Upon a Star” has been recorded by more than one hundred subsequent recording artists and orchestras.

New Details on High School Musical 4
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Music, Cable, Gossip
It’ll be West Side Story meets East High for the latest installment of High School Musical.
Although the major players from Disney’s hit trilogy have decided to move on, the studio is continuing with plans to extend its franchise. The fourth movie - aimed once again for the small screen - will focus on a new student roster. According to the press release, fans will have a “classic love triangle set against the cross-town school rivalry between the East High Wildcats and West High Knights” to look forward to.
While it’s possible some of the characters introduced during Senior Year will appear in the made-for-TV film, no casting decisions have yet been revealed. The only vets announced so far are screenwriter Peter Barsocchini and executive producers Bill Borden and Barry Rosenbush.
Production on High School Musical 4 is set to begin later this year in time for a 2010 debut.

Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Miley Cyrus!
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, Specials, Video
During a sexy London TV performance that some say was far too mature for the sweet 16 singer, Miley Cyrus strutted around stage in short shorts as she frolicked to her new single. There’s only one problem: Cyrus doesn’t know all the words to her song.
Watch the above video to see the performance of “Fly on the Wall” - you’ll find the slip-up about one and a half minutes in. After the number was over, Cyrus flashed a grin at one of her back-up dancers and said “I forgot the words!”
Disney really shouldn’t overwork their biggest star so hard. Come on guys, let her learn the songs before she performs them.

FOX to Spread the Musical Glee
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, Rumors
It worked for Disney. Disney makes money. FOX likes to make money, too. So why not sort of borrow an idea inspired by Disney, tweak it for TV, and make a truckload of money?
I’m just guessing here, but I feel like the pitch for FOX’s Glee went something like this. The network has ordered thirteen episodes of a new scripted musical series, truly the first of its kind. The maker of Nip/Tuck is behind the High School-based series, which will follow the characters inside a glee club that’s striving toward nationals.
Sources say the series will premiere in 2009, with speculation on the exact date running rampant. Some say it won’t appear until the summer season hits, while others are saying FOX will surely air it earlier to make use of an American Idol tie-in.
At any rate, it’s a musical series (there will be numbers every episode) starring a bunch of young, good-looking people. It’s not High School Musical, it’s Glee.
And it’s probably going to be huge.

Miley Cyrus Wants to Do More TV
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Gossip
Here’s a big surprise: teen superstar Miley Cyrus would like to spend even more time in front of the cameras. The Disney sensation was promoting her work in Bolt when she stopped to chat with E! News about her own career desires.
“I would want to do a reality show like ‘The Real World’ because I think that’s crazy,” she told reporters. “Anyone who would do that has some serious guts.” Or issues with exhibitionism.
“I just want to be in a really nice house, with cameras following me around,” she elaborated. I actually kind of thought her life was already like that - cameras and all. We’ve certainly seen enough pictures of her in somewhat private situations. “I can just sit there, eat Cheetos, read my book, hang out all day.”
So, if Cyrus was doing a reality show, we’d all get to watch her eat junk food, read and sit around. This would absolutely tank…with any other star but her. I actually believe people would watch this gladly, and I’m quite sure someone is pitching the idea to MTV even at this moment.
Referring to her life, Cyrus said, “It’s like a free reality show, I just don’t get paid for it.” Don’t worry, fans, Cyrus actually gets paid prettily by Disney for her work. “They’re always there,” she complained of the paparazzi.
Sure, I get it. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable to have the photogs taking shots. Why not just install cameras and sound equipment in one’s home instead?
