FOX Choosing Repeats Over Dollhouse this November

Dollhouse

Okay - how can we spin this announcement for the fans out there?

Let’s start with the bad news. There won’t be much to be thankful for this November. In order to stop the bleeding on Friday, FOX has opted to take the show off the air during the sweeps month. Repeats of House and Bones will take over for the Joss Whedon program - and comedies ‘Til Death and - starting November 6.

Eliza Dushku Dishes Dollhouse Season 2 Tidbits

Just as we’re nearly a week away from the season two premiere of Dollhouse, producer and star of the sci-fi action-drama Eliza Dushku took some time to drop some hints of what’s to come during her appearance at Fox’s Fall Eco-Casino Party.

Dushku reveals that Echo acquires help from Paul, confirms Summer Glau’s guest starring, divulges Topher’s “field trip” from the Dollhouse, and spills some wedding details.

First Look: Dollhouse Season Two Promos

Dollhouse season two promos

Fox has released promotional photos for Joss Whedon’s latest brain-numbing action-drama show, Dollhouse, and let’s just say that he’s truly working with that small budget.

Aside from Echo’s psychedelic-colored, blatantly-literal dollhouse room, the individual cast members (photos after the jump) get kicked to the dumpy, $5 wannabe-Fisher-Price house. Season two of Dollhouse airs Friday, September 25.

On a side note, I’m still not yet prepared for Amy Acker’s impending absence. Will I really have to watch ABC’s Happy Town to get my Amy fix?

Small Budget Won’t Get in Whedon’s Way

Joss is back with a vengeance, apparently Folks over at Dollhouse are already two weeks into plotting its next season, and creator Joss Whedon could care less about the major budget cut this time around.

“I just wanted to die of tiredness. About two hours after starting to talk to the writers about story, I was back with such a vengeance, and so energized and so pumped because we really understand the show now. We understand what works, and what didn’t work so well or what we weren’t so thrilled about. We don’t have the onus of trying to be a big hit sitting on our shoulders. We can just be ourselves. And so the stories we’re breaking are pure, and exciting, and everybody’s on-board in the room, and it’s never flowed better.”

Yoohoo—do you hear that, Fox?

“Really, just every meeting is like, ‘What’s the most fun we can have with this actor?’ about the whole cast. All I can say—‘cause I’m gonna be Mr. Un-Spoiler—is that we’re having a crazy amount of fun, and usually, that tends to translate onto the screen,” he tells EW.

Dollhouse: Does it Look as Bad as We Had Feared?

Okay - let’s face it. On paper, already sounds like a potential disaster.

Back in July, creator Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel) announced he would be shooting a new pilot for his FOX series. Two months later, production on the show was temporarily halted while scripts were being tweaked.

Dollhouse Stops Production for More Rework

Eliza Dushku in DollhouseShould we start worrying about FOX’s mid-season schedule?

Less than a week after learning that 24‘s production had temporarily shut down, we’re getting word about another work stoppage. According to studio execs, Joss Whedon’s new series, Dollhouse, is once again getting a pre-premiere touch up.

Just over a month ago, the show’s creator announced that he was in the process of writing a whole new pilot. This decision was deemed necessary to help clear up any possible confusion. Now filming is being placed on pause for more scripting adjustments.

Joss Whedon Rearranges Dollhouse Schedule

Eliza DushkuAlthough we still have months to go before the premiere of , Joss Whedon followers may already have a reason to be worried. The show’s creator has just announced that he’ll be shooting a whole new pilot for his FOX show.

Dollhouse, the second Whedon creation for that network (he was also the man behind Firefly), stars Buffy vet as one of several agents for hire. Their abilities and memories, which are specifically crafted for each client, are immediately erased after an assignment is completed.

After showing Episode #1 to FOX execs - and even friend David Lynch - it was agreed that series could start off on a better note. In fact, some apparently found the segment confusing. To remedy the situation, Whedon is crafting a prequel that will air just before the pilot episode. He believes this will help introduce the characters better.

Fox Hypes Up Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse

Cast of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse

Feeling quite guilty that I haven’t come across the Dollhouse trailer until now, I felt like I should make up for it by doing Fox a favor and spreading the love!

The trailer for this fall’s sci-fi drama (which you can check out after the jump) has been out and about on YouTube and select TV spots, getting many pretty excited about its premiere. After all, it is  Joss Whedon’s first series since Firefly, which went off the air back in 2003 (surprisingly with the same network his new show is on).

Dollhouse, starring former Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS) favorite Eliza Dushku, focuses on a clandestine, illegal operation carried out by agents who have their memories and personalities completely erased after each mission. Dushku plays Echo, one operative who slowly starts to learn more and more about where she works over time—she becomes a known flaw in the system, if you will.

The series premieres in January on Fox, right before 24 in the Monday 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT spot.
