Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka Talk Heroes Season 4
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, NBC, Heroes, Gossip, News, Rumors, Spoilers, Video
Heroes favorites Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere took some time out to talk about the upcoming season, specifically what’s going on with Hiro and Claire’s new college roommate.
Last we saw our favorite Japanese villain-fighter extraordinaire, he wasn’t faring too well with fighting off a sickness he acquired. Oka elaborated on his character’s hardship:
“Hiro let someone into his world. The first time he stopped time while touching someone—in that case, it was Ando—that was first time he froze time with someone else in that freeze-time world. That was started the adverse effect in Hiro’s brain. The power is meant to have a capacity of one. When you start adding Ando, Suresh, and other people into that world, it just a strain that’s put on Hiro’s brain.”
Oka also revealed that the dynamic between Ando and Hiro changes when Ando marries Hiro’s sister and harnesses his powers, “It always changes, but once Ando got his powers, it was more equal footing. It wasn’t more of a Batman and Robin; it became more of a Batman and Superman. There’s something to be said to be said about the familiarity of the characters and what the audience wants and expects, but we want the characters to grow.”

Doherty Return a Done Deal for 90210
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, The CW, Gossip
I knew there was a good reason I kept watching 90210 even after Brenda Walsh randomly disappeared. The CW has officially announced that Shannen Doherty will return to the series to do two episodes for sure. She might even do more (please, Shannen, do more!).
Doherty left the original Beverly Hills, 90210 after four short years in 1994. Despite re-emerging on TV several times over, she’s still Brenda Walsh to most of the viewing public. And it only took her four episodes to find Walsh-like fame once more.
She’ll reprise her role again in the 11th and 12th episodes, scheduled to air next month, and will appear on screen with Jennie Garth’s Kelly Taylor yet again. Think we can manage to keep watching until she returns?

Nicole Richie to Guest Star on Chuck
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip, News
After years of acting like a bratty socialite, Nicole Richie has finally decided to dabble in real comedic fare. (I mean - if Paris Hilton can attempt it, anyone can.)
Next fall, we’ll be seeing Richie in an episode of NBC’s Chuck. The new mom will play a “snarky and spiteful girl who tortured Sarah in school.” (That description is so Lohan on Ugly Betty.) The two cross paths again when Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) is forced to attend her high school reunion for a mission.
This job actually won’t be the first non-reality role for Nicole. The Simple Life star has also made appearances on American Dreams and 8 Simple Rules.

Apple May Lower Price for TV Show Downloads
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: NBC, Internet
Despite a severed relationship with NBC Universal, Apple is supposedly considering lowered prices for iTunes users. (Lack of pricing flexibility had been a point of contention in the NBC failed negotiations). Currently, downloads of television shows cost $1.99/each. If changes are made, consumers may soon pay only $0.99 for song and episode purchases.
It’s expected that many entertainment companies will balk at the proposal fearing slashed prices would hurt their bottom line. Why would fans still purchase boxed-set DVDs if packaging a season online proves more cost-effective? But Apple conversely believes that reducing prices would actually boost revenue for all parties involved.
There’s no indication at this time when or if this strategy may ever take effect.

NBC Leaves Apple, Turns to Amazon
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: NBC, Announcements, Internet, News
After severing ties with Apple, NBC Universal has forged a relationship with Amazon.com. So fans in need of a missed show can now turn to Amazon’s ‘Unbox’ service for their fix. NBC claims this new partnership allows for more pricing flexibility and packaged content.
To whet your appetite, the network will be allowing fans to download for free pilots of their new fall shows (including those for Bionic Woman, Chuck and Life). Interestingly enough, later episodes will then be available for $1.99 (the same price made familiar by iTunes).
Be looking for those new pilots come next Monday (September 10th).

Nip/Tuck: Frankenlaura
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Cable, Nip/Tuck, Features
After such a spectacular ending to Nip/Tuck‘s last episode, this week’s started with such a letdown. Whatever happened to Kit? After all, she was only slashed by The Carver, how they could not address that at all? I guess when you’re racked with debts, other people’s problems fall to the waste side. Sean and Christian can’t afford to be doing pro bono work on backstabbing detectives.
Still reeling from the publicity backlash, McNamara/Troy is forced to deal with the financial health of their company. Unsure if they will survive past a few more months, Liz offers to help them out by turning in her resignation. Sean and Christian try to assure her (and themselves) that they will be back up and running very soon.

Nip/Tuck: Granville Trapp

Although I’ve never been able to stomach surgery scenes, I’ve ironically been obsessed with anything related to plastic surgery. Who are the freaks behind these stories? Why does that socialite, Jocelyn Wildenstein, insist on looking like a cat? Why does Melissa Rivers want to emulate her mother? Why did those brothers on MTV actually think they could look like Brad Pitt? And more importantly—why do I care? This is why I love Nip/Tuck. It gives this newcomer all I want - and more. Some Nip/Tuck devotees may accuse me of jumping late onto the bandwagon, but I don’t care. I’m hooked and I can’t stop staring.
Oooh—and did things get all nice and awkward in last week’s episode, or what?
