This Week on TV (1/12-1/18)

Big Love

(You can view TV Envy’s Midseason Programming Schedule here.)

MONDAY 1/12)

  • 24 (FOX, 8pm):  “Jack is released from his Senate subcommittee hearing to help with the domestic threat and the investigation into former colleague Tony Almeida.” I can’t imagine what he would do to just to get out of jury duty.
  • Kyle XY (ABC Family, 9pm):  Season 3 premiere. “Lori, Declan, Josh and Andy deal with the choices they made at the prom.” Whatever happens at prom, stays at prom.
  • Man vs. Wild (Discovery, 10pm):  “An adventure in the jungles of Belize has the host reckoning with a 9-foot boa constrictor and a dangerous white-water river.” The longer the snake, the more skin to pee in.

HBO Fills Fall Schedule

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Cable, HBO, Entourage, News, Renewals

Big Love castAs if I didn’t have enough TV to watch during the fall season…

Earlier today, I was informed that two of my reasons to love the summer have sadly been taken away from me.  Thanks to the writers’ strike, several programs normally enjoyed during the off-months will now have to fight for space on my Tivo much later this year.

Shows affected by the production delay include , Entourage, Flight of the Conchords and new drama True Blood.

I’m not sure what to do with myself.  I guess I might actually have to take a vacation now.

Our TV Memos: SYTYCD, Flight of the Conchords, Scott Baio

Sabra JohnsonFrom time to time I feel the need to pen (or type, really) a little bit of television-related correspondence, but I don’t always have the right email addresses.  So why don’t I use the column inches I’m generous granted here to catch up on a few memos I’ve been meaning to write?  (Don’t worry, that’s a rhetorical question.)  Here goes:

To the voting viewers of So You Think You Can Dance: I’m going to ignore the fact that you actually call in and vote, though it still puzzles me, even after all the votes, that people actually do that (and I’m totally going to get dinged by one of my best friend who I think actually does vote).  Anyway, I’m going to ignore that and say thank you for voting for .  I liked, not loved, the show, but I really enjoyed it when Sabra danced.  She just seemed more fun, more watchable than the other finalists, but I can’t give you a good reason why.  Can’t tell you why anymore than I can tell you why Mary Murphy is ... like she is.  I liked Sabra and she won and that’s always a nice moment when you’re watching a reality show.

Oh, also Sabra’s hair is pretty awesome, so that helps.
