Quote of the Day: ‘Walking Dead’ Star Norman Reedus on ‘Portlandia’
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, Gossip,
"I love Portlandia! I would do that show, in a heartbeat. I would love that. You know when Saturday Night Live did a sketch of The Walking Dead, and Bill Hader played me? He invited me to the after-party, and Fred [Armisen] was there, and I was such a big fan, I just spent the entire time trying to hug Fred over and over and over again. I think he thought I was a complete weirdo. He might be scared of me now... I'm a hugger, too. But it was literally like seven hugs, and he was looking at me like, 'Again? You want to hug again?' I might have hugged him to death. But I love the feminist bookstore skit. I love that whole show. It's awesome."

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
SNL’s “The Ambiguously Gay Duo,” an animated pair created by Robert Smigel, have made 12 appearances on the show since 1996... but this past Saturday, fans saw them in a whole new way. Thanks to a flesh-ray invented by the evil villain Brain-O, we learned that the live action version of Ace and Gary look exactly like Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon, respectively.
Late night host Stephen Colbert played Brain-O, Steve Carell Big Head, cast member Fred Armisen became Lizardo and host Ed Helms is the two-face character in the fantastic skit.

VIDEO: SNL’s Take on the State of the Untion
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video,
Last week’s Saturday Night Live opened with Fred Armisen, who has enjoyed the honor many times this season. He reprised his role as President Barack Obama to deliver his own version of the State of the Union address.
Complete with real footage, the skit was hilarious, though Armisen’s impression is by no means definitive (or even very good). What makes this clip stellar is Jason Sudeikis as Joe Biden. Just watch it to see.

Two New Females to Join SNL Cast
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Renewals,
UPDATE: Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson have both been let go from the show.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, two of SNL’s strongest female cast members, have moved on to other projects. So who will step into their shoes? Many are anticipating the arrival of two new women on the set, but this is a huge disservice to one who’s been quietly waiting for a chance to step into the spotlight.
Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad could be two bright spots in the upcoming 35th season of Saturday Night Live, both coming from comedy backgrounds. But SNL already has a funny female to light skits on fire; Kristen Wiig has been on the show for a few years now, and always manages to score laughs.

2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Prime Time, Specials,
Last January, the Screen Actors Guild Awards was considered a pleasant distraction from all the writers’ strike business. Since the actors now face their own work stoppage, this year’s event once again served as a nice diversion.
With the Academy Awards less than a month away, tonight’s ceremony gave us a better idea of how that broadcast might pan out. Was Kate Winslet another double-winner this evening? Did Mickey Rourke wrestle an additional victory? Is Heath Ledger on his way to that posthumous Oscar? Get all the details after the jump!
