Community Gets a Return Date

After several weeks of leaving Community fans waiting to find out whether or not the pop culture-loving comedy would ever return to the NBC line-up after its winter break, the network has finally announced a return date: March 15.
Reclaiming its Thursday night spot at 8pm, the show bumps its current replacement, 30 Rock, back to 8:30pm while Parks & Recreation goes on hiatus. Beyond season 3, sadly, the network hasn't confirmed whether or not the Breakfast Club-esque study group will see another semester season.

Sharon Osbourne Taking a Break From The Talk
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, CBS, Announcements, News,
Sharon Osbourne is taking a break from The Talk to spend more time with her husband. The 58-year-old star insists she is not leaving the discussion program for good, but she will not be on the panel when the show returns after its summer break in September because she wants to be with her spouse, rocker Ozzy Osbourne when he comes off tour.
"I've kept it no secret that I really miss my husband. He'll have been on tour for 18 months by the time it's over. I've spent a lot of time away from him. He gets a break at the end of September and so I've asked for a little break so I can be with him. I don't want to give it up. It's a great, great show. We've all worked really hard over the last year. I'm not going to walk away from that. I just need some real good quality time to be with my hubby."
One reason Sharon wants to return is the close bond she has with co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini: "I'm very close to the women on the show. I didn't think that I would be [because] none of us knew each other going into it. We just didn't know each other socially."
Sharon's close friend, however, America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon thinks The Talk will struggle without her. "She's marvelous. She's the caregiver to us all. She just calms us all down."
Two and a Half Men Production on Hiatus

UPDATE: The network is ordering more episodes of Rules of Engagement and Mike & Molly to make up for Men.
Two and a Half Men's hiatus will drag on longer than previously scheduled.
Although production on the CBS comedy was set to resume Monday, the fate of the hit series is now up in the air. One day after Charlie Sheen was hospitalized for stomach pains, the actor voluntarity admitted himself into a rehab facility.
"We are profoundly concerned for his health and well-being, and support his decision," the network, Warner Bros. TV and show creator Chuck Lorre said in a joint statement.

Production Shut Down on NBC’s Outlaw
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, Ratings,
UPDATE: The show has been officially pulled from the Friday schedule. Remaining episodes will air Saturdays @ 8 PM.
Looks like Outlaw is running out of luck.
Late this week, NBC came just shy of canceling the freshman series altogether. The program – starring Jimmy Smits – was placed on production hiatus after three nights’ worth of dismal numbers.
That decision was made before the program’s latest outing – which earned in 4.2 million viewers and a 1.0/3 in the 18-49 demo. Should the network continue to air the finished episodes, we could still see four more weeks of the show.

Filming Paused on FlashForward
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, News,
Another day calls for another production break.
Late last week, filming was temporarily halted on ABC’s Cougar Town so that Courteney Cox could attend to a private family matter. (The network has since said work would resume on November 30.) Now FlashForward is getting its own time out.
Although ratings have gone steadily downhill since the 12.4 million premiere (the series pulled in 8 million last Thursday), the six-day break was reportedly built into the shooting schedule.
“They started production early so that they could have the luxury to do this,” a rep told EW. “They want to maintain the high quality of the show, and this gives the writers the opportunity to do so.”
FlashForward‘s last original before 2010 will air December 3.

Production Temporarily Halted on Cougar Town
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, News,
UPDATE: Production will resume on November 30.
Filming on one of ABC’s most promising new shows has been indefinitely halted for reasons other than ratings.
Cougar Town, which would have shut down this week anyway for the holidays, stopped taping late last week due to a personal issue connected to star Courteney Cox. “We can confirm production on Cougar Town has been temporarily shut down in order for Courteney to deal with a private family matter,” ABC said in a statement.
At this time, three previously shot episodes can carry the network through January 6. It’s not known when the cast and crew will return to the set.

‘The Nine’ Sees It’s Ninth Life
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Renewals,
Back in November, I lamented the loss of a great show, The Nine. ABC put the series on hiatus right when the mysteries started kicking in. What really happened inside the bank?? I had kept the Season Pass request in my Tivo hoping that someday it would pick up a new episode. After a few months of waiting, I finally hit delete.
Needless to say, I was ecstatic to hear that ABC would air the remaining episodes starting this week. Unfortunately the news is a bit bittersweet. While I’m happy to get new pieces of the puzzle—knowing that six is all I will get is torturous. I hate being teased…but I’m still a glutton for punishment.
Reset your Tivo for this Wednesday @ 10pm.

Is The Nine Down For The Count?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Ratings,
Okay – I know that putting a show on hiatus is not exactly a NEW thing. But it’s been a long time since I’ve watched a complete dud, so I’m not used to when it happens to me..especially mid-story line.
So needless to say, I was stunned to hear this morning that ABC’s The Nine was put on immediate hiatus. I mean, I know that the ratings weren’t as high as hoped, but c’mon…..it was a good show! To make matters worse – there’s no exact word at this time when the show might be resurrected.
Arrgggh!!!
How will I be able to sleep not knowing if Eva was in on the whole thing?? And how about those poor lovebirds, Jeremy and Lizzie?? What happened in that bank that forced them to break up? And what exactly happened to Felicia that made her so traumatized???
I don’t like this new position that I’ve been put in and I’m not sure if I will ever get past Stage Denial. A plea to anyone who’s gone through this before: Please let me know what to expect next…

Look for ‘Lost Moments’ to Keep Fans Happy
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Lost, Internet,
OK folks, now that Lost is on hiatus for 13 weeks, it’s time to curl up in the fetal position and wait for the series to return in February. Never fear… ABC will be spoon-feeding small morsels of the hit show to fans during these long cold weeks of darkness. Day Break, starring Taye Diggs, will be taking the place of Lost, but viewers of Day Break should be on the lookout for what ABC is calling “Lost Moments.” These 30-second clips will show scenes from upcoming episodes and just may reveal, in small bites, what’s ahead for 2007. Of course, ABC won’t reveal what time the clips will be aired during Day Break, thus encouraging viewers to tune in for this new Groundhog’s Day-esque drama. If you don’t happen to watch Day Break, ABC will include the promos on ABC.com the next day.
