Alba, Leachman to Join Jack Black on The Office
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office

Although most shows would be perfectly happy with just two seconds of Jack Black, NBC is not letting its Super Bowl year go to waste.
On February 1st, a list of stars will be making cameos on a rare Sunday installment of The Office. Joining a previously announced Black will be actresses Jessica Alba and Cloris Leachman.
In the special post-game episode, several employees of Dunder Mifflin will attempt to download a bootlegged movie during work hours. (The title of the show is appropriately titled “Stress Relief.”) Jack, Jessica and Cloris will all be featured in that film.
Football fans will also get an added bonus. That installment of The Office will run a full hour.

Jack Black to Get Some Office Work Done
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office, Gossip
Singer/actor Jack Black will make an appearance on The Office, enjoying a rather cushy spot on the schedule: he’ll be on right after the Super Bowl. It’s a tough act to follow, but somehow I think Black can pull it off.
The episode, titled “Stress Relief,” will originally air on February 1 and involve a bootlegged movie. How will Black factor in? So far, the network is giving any details.

American Idol: Season Seven Winner Announced
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Editorial

The seventh season of American Idol culminated last night in a spectacular, two-hour grand finale event. The fans, the fanfare, the Davids - it was a truly great show.
The men of the hours, Davids Archuleta and Cook, appeared in white for the opening sequence. Ryan Seacrest announced that the winner of the contest secured 56% of the vote. More than 96 million votes were logged, a record-breaking number, but of course voters had four hours after Tuesday’s performance (instead of the usual two) to make their wishes known.

Lindsay Lohan Going Small Screen…for Good?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, ABC, Gossip
Lindsay Lohan will soon make potential waves when she appears on Ugly Betty. In fact, TV could become a new career for this former party girl. As things stand, she doesn’t have a whole lot going on with her Hollywood career path.
Earlier Lohan news touted the actress’s involvement with Manson Girls, a much-anticipated flick about the serial killer, and Ye Old Times, a Jack Black comedy. The latest news reports, however, claim that Lohan is no longer involved with either project.
One report says Lohan was dropped from Girls when no other high-profile actress would work with her, but Lindsay’s people claim “scheduling conflicts” were the cause. Making a guest appearance on a sitcom takes a lot of time, people.
Lindsay Lohan will actually make an appearance in six episodes of Betty, which could lead to something more concrete in television. The lighthearted family fun of sitcoms may be just the thing to restore Lohan’s image in the public eye, and hopefully the rest of her career.

Jack Black to Host MTV Video Music Awards
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Award Shows, Music, Cable, Video
Good news for you Jack Black fans—Jack will be hosting the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards, airing on August 31st. Said Black of his hosting gig, “Prepare yourself for a rip snortin’ humdinger.” Ah, I love a good quote, and Jack seems to sum up all of the goodness in one small quip. The awards will air live from Radio City Music Hall in New York and will include performances by Beyonce, Justin Timberlake, Panic! at the Disco and Ludacris. MTV President Christina Norman had her own succinct quote about Black’s hosting credentials, stating he is the “perfect mix of comedy, rock, irreverence and star power.” Black has been in a string of films, including School of Rock and the more recent release, Nacho Libre. His band, Tenacious D, will have a semi-autobiographical film coming out on November 17th. If you are a Jack Black fan, check out his work with Tenacious D—some absolutely hilarious stuff, although not for the faint of heart. I admit some of the content makes me blush, but I can still laugh through the embarrassment.
