Glee: Sue-pervillains and ‘Neglected’ Stars

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip,

Glee Night of Neglect Gwyneth PaltrowTuesday’s “Night of Neglect” finally put an end to the Glee drought, but the show barely had time to fit in all the tender moments, twists and touching one-on-ones. Only four new tunes were featured in the episode, but at least the show made them count. But did they have anything to do with neglected artists or characters? …No, not really.

The show opened with a classic set-up: Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) rallying his team to participate in an idea that’s just doomed for failure. Because Sue Sylvester’s Cheerios money is all tied up in untouchable Cayman Islands bank accounts, New Directions found themselves again at funding odds. They need big bucks to make the trip to New York, and Will got the idea to fund the entire thing by selling salt-water taffy. At twenty-five cents a pop. This equals out to 20,000 pieces of taffy (egads!).

The bellyaching that followed put Mike Chang (Harry Shum, Jr.) over the edge. He revealed that four of the Glee club members (himself, Tina, Artie and Brittany) are members of the Brainiacs, the school’s academic decathalon team -- and, they’ve done so well they’re heading to finals in Detroit. But no one in the club even noticed. Will quickly added their funding needs to the projected salt water taffy sales.

Glee’s Super Bowl Episode Kicks Off New Drama

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, Specials, FOX, Gossip, Video,

Few events have been as highly-anticipated as the Glee Super Bowl episode, titled “The Sue Sylvester Shuffle.”

Jane Lynch, who plays Sue, featured heavily on the show -- and that would make any episode a success. But since Glee also gave us an epic musical number, a big guest star and an eye-popping twist, we’re glad to say the wait for the next new episode won’t be quite as long as the last one.

The show opened with the original audio of Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” set to a new Cheerios routine featuring pyrotechnics, blue wigs . . . and an angry Sue Sylvester. Unhappy with the routine, Coach Sue made some of the girls hit themselves with chicken cutlets to try and cheer herself up. Sue’s problem is not that the routine is bad -- it’s that she has to find a way to top herself, as Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron) pointed out.

Glee: Splits and Sectionals

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, Video,

Glee’s “Special Education” episode kicked off right away -- no time for a recap in this drama-packed installment. Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) presented Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays) with tickets to the upcoming Sectionals event … but she wasn’t really feeling it. She advised Will not to ignore all the rich talent he has in his New Directions club. This prompted Will to change all his Sectionals plans … and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) didn’t take it very well.

Will’s decision to feature Brittany (Heather Morris) and Mike (Harry Shum, Jr.) in a dance number, and Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) in a solo didn’t upset Rachel alone. Finn Hudson (Cory Montieth) quickly incurred the wrath of Santana (Naya Rivera), who let the beans spill that she and Finn had a liaison last year … which Finn subsequently lied about to Rachel.

Uh-oh.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Gossip, Video,

Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jesslyn Gilsig and Cory Monteith were just a few of the cast members who walked the red carpet this week for a TVAcademy event.

(Rachel Berry) and Jayma Mays (Emma Pillsbury) discussed the frocks they’ll wear for the upcoming Emmy awards (Glee scored a jaw-dropping 19 nominations). Michele, who is up for a Best Actress statue, is going for a look that’s “different” from her previous Golden Globes attire. Mays joked that she might look for her red carpet gown at Ross Dress for Less. She says her “gorgeous” husband is “the perfect accessory.”

Other cast members also discussed their dates. Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel) is bringing his parents, an act might mimick. He initially said he will probably take his mom, then grinned and added, “Maybe I’ll bring a cute girl to the Emmys.” Ask Lea!

Sneak Peek: Glee Covers Papa Don’t Preach

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Music, Prime Time, FOX, Spoilers, Video,

When you heard Glee was going to devote an entire episode to songs from Madonna, which tracks did you envision them singing?

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, actress Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) revealed her dream cover would be the dance hit “Ray of Light.” Meanwhile, she chose “Material Girl” for Chris Colfer (Kurt Hummel), “Open Your Heart” for Amber Riley (Mercedes Jones) and “Frozen” for Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina Cohen-Chang)—since that was when Madonna was at her “most Goth place.” She also selected “Vogue” for Kevin McHale (Artie Abrams) because she figured it would allow the wheelchair-bound character to use his hands.

Until their actual songs are revealed, you can watch this preview of actress (pregnant cheerleader Quinn Fabray) doing a rendition of “Papa Don’t Preach.”
