VIDEO: A Sick Letterman Tends to Jennifer Garner’s Wounds

On yesterday’s taping of Late Show with David Letterman, the 62-year-old host gave Ben Affleck reason to forget about Jimmy Kimmel.
Although he was clearly fighting a cold (who takes sick days, Jay Leno?), Letterman felt well enough to flirt with Jennifer Garner (Ghosts of Girlfriends Past) and to personally nurse her wounds. (You can see that “touching” moment after the jump.)

Gary Busey Freaks Out Jennifer Garner, Laura Linney
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Cable, Gossip, Video
During E!‘s red carpet coverage of the Academy Awards, actor Gary Busey hit the trifecta when he managed to weird out Ryan Seacrest, Laura Linney and Jennifer Garner.
You know a situation is extremely uncomfortable when two professional actresses can’t act like it was all spontaneous fun. After being mauled by Busey, the Juno star then irritatingly referred to him as ‘this man’ before (understandably) running away. Seacrest was then left to get rid of the actor as gracefully as possible.

MONDAY (1/7)
- The View (ABC, check local listings): Elisabeth Hasselbeck returns from maternity leave. I’d gladly sacrifice her to the union gods for an end to the writers’ strike.
- Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann (ABC, 8pm): Here’s our chance to see if the DWTS judges can actually teach what they preach.
- American Gladiators (NBC, 8pm): “In the men’s competition, an engineer takes on a radiation-control technician.” The year of the nerd has now officially spilled over into 2008.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): Season four premiere. “Allison has creepy visions of a boy being kidnapped from a toy store.” I never did trust that Geoffrey Giraffe.
- Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (Travel Channel, 10pm): Anthony travels to Singapore for his latest season premiere. I don’t like traveling with crusty people, but I love watching them venture on TV.
- The Daily Show/The Colbert Report (Comedy Central, 11:30pm): Tonight Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will crank out their versions of a writer-less show. God love ‘em for trying.

Garner signs on for Ghosts of Girlfriends Past
Posted by Shannon Bennett Categories: News
The former star of ABC’s Alias has signed onto NewLine’s new project, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Jennifer Garner will act opposite Matthew McConaughey in the feature set for released in 2008. The film will be focused around McConaughey’s character, as he is haunted by ex girlfriends at his kid brother’s wedding. Garner will be playing his current girlfriend and “the one” he has to get right this time around.
It sounds a little Dickens to us, but as long as Jen’s got screentime, we support it. Can she please, please have a gun? Or at least a disguise? Magenta Wig? No?

Jenna Fischer, Husband Split
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, The Office, Gossip, Rumors
I just read this news and let out an audible sigh. I don’t know why… it’s not like I even have a clue who Jenna Fischer‘s husband (James Gunn) is, nor have I ever really seen them together to get a sense of their chemistry. It’s just kind of sad to always read about another celebrity split. And I can’t help but think it’s because Fischer is becoming a big deal. We’ve seen it all before—I’m thinking Uma Thurman or Jennifer Garner—where one half of the couple is more famous… and the next thing you know, you’re reading about another divorce. Of course, I can only believe that Fischer has got to be the sweetest person; from her blog alone, she seems really down to earth. She and Gunn (who is a writer and director) have been married for more than six years, but according to a statement they released, they said, “We have chosen to separate. We are sorry for any pain this causes family and friends. The enthusiasm we have expressed for each other’s lives, spirits and careers is real – we have been each other’s cheerleader and friend during the past six years and continue to be so now and in the future.” Now we’ll have plenty of tabloid reports about who she’s dating next. Anyone want to put money on her co-star, John Krasinski?
