Pretty Little Debut for ABC’s Liars
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Cable,
ABC Family’s much-anticipated winter premiere of Pretty Little Liars debuted Monday night, and fans are still mystified -- though much relieved.
Hannah (Ashley Benson) isn’t dead after all, and she revealed the identify of “A” near the top of the episode: Noel Kahn (Brant Daughtery). But … is Hannah correct? It was definitely Noel who wrote “I See You” on the rear windshield of Ezra Fitz’s (Ian Harding's) car -- he admitted as much to Aria (Lucy Hale). And that still doesn’t necessarily mean he’s "A."

Melrose Place: Murderer Revealed! (And Promptly Murdered)
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Video,
Melrose Place dished out helpings of murder, sex and a few unexpected plot twists last night. Sure, the episode had its faults…but most of them can be overlooked in light of all the interesting developments. Not to mention, viewers finally got what they’ve been waiting for: an out-and-out catfight that revealed Sydney’s true killer. Now that was fairly well scripted - though Michael’s wife was such a minor character, we probably should have been it coming.
That’s right - it was Brooke Burns who took down Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews, who was murdered at the beginning of the pilot episode) after a vicious verbal fight that drove her over the edge. Finally, a flashback scene that was really worth watching. More of Amanda Woodward’s (Heather Locklear) motives for returning to the Place were revealed as well - it has something to do with some painting worth millions.
Much more interesting things happened in the episode…

Melrose Place Premieres with a Shriek: Review
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Editorial, Gossip, Video,
The CW’s premiere of Melrose Place, the new version, did everything it was supposed to do…even if it did rely upon a few shopworn plot ideas to do it. There was much less shock factor and much more slick appeal than what was to be expected. But at the end of the episode, enough loose ends were left hanging to keep audiences coming back for more.
To sum it up, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s acting was bad, Sydney’s part was pretty small and the blonde girl? Completely unlikable so far - but definitely a diva worth hating.

Melrose Place to Resurrect - Then Kill - Sydney
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Spoilers,
Original Melrose Place viewers got quite a shock in 1997 when Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) was tragically killed on her wedding day. But viewers of the new series will see her brought back from the grave…only to return to that same grave shortly into the first episode.
Sydney will be found floating in the pool just after she’s brought back to life. It’s the sort of thing that could only happen at Melrose Place.
“It will feel nostalgic, but it’s not the old Melrose,” said Todd Slavkin, one of the show’s writers. “Sydney’s death in the first 10 minutes…means anything could happen.”

Josie Bissett Returns to Melrose Place
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,
Next season, Melrose Place viewers will get a triple dose of nostalgia for their viewing pleasure. Actress Josie Bissett, a.k.a. Jane Andrews Mancini, is now the latest veteran to return to the famous address.
Bissett, one of the FOX series’ original members, played wife to Thomas Calabro (Dr. Michael Mancini) and sister to Laura Leighton (Sydney Andrews). Both of those actors have already been cast in CW’s update. Although it’s unclear how long Josie’s run will be, she’s currently scheduled to appear in at least one. (I’m assuming her arrival will have something to do with the season’s shocking plotline.)

Melrose Place Welcomes Back Thomas Calabro
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, Video,
What would a Sydney Andrews return be without Michael Mancini by her side? Thankfully, we won’t have to find out.
Thomas Calabro, who played Dr. Michael Mancini on the entire run of Melrose Place, has just been added to CW’s version of the show. This news comes one day after Laura Leighton’s name was officially attached.
Although it’s unclear whether Michael and Sydney will reunite (does he even know that his ex-wife is still alive?), he will have a connection to at least one other person on the program. According to People, Calabro will also play father to David Patterson (actress Shaun Sipos). It was previously reported that David would actually be the son of Jake Hansen (veteran Grant Show).

Laura Leighton Returns to Melrose Place
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip,
Sorry, Lisa Rinna. It doesn’t look like your services will be needed anytime soon.
They might not have been able to secure Heather Locklear for their Melrose Place reboot, but the CW has just resurrected someone from the dead. Ashlee-Simpson Wentz will now be checking in with another redhead - veteran Laura Leighton - when it comes time to pay the rent.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the actress who played the deliciously bad Sydney Andrews from 1993-97 will be brought on as the update’s landlord. This despite Sydney’s supposed death by car at the end of Season 5. (You can see that clip after the jump.) There’s been no word as to how she will suddenly reappear after being MIA from the program’s last two seasons. (Ooh - will she be secretly hiding a scar under her wig like Kimberly?)
Andrews, like Kelly Taylor on 90210, is being listed as a recurring character.
