American Idol Contestant Sues Show for $300 Million

Rejected contestant Ian Benardo doesn’t have a prayer of getting $300 million from the show, though he recently filed a lawsuit asking for this staggering sum. We’re pretty sure Benardo has filed suit more for publicity than for money…so we’re going to give it to him.

If you don’t know who Ian Benardo is, it’s probably because you didn’t watch the spectacular which aired in May. Benardo turned an otherwise average stage show into a circus when he ripped the microphone out of the hands of comedian Dane Cook and proceeded to scream out his agenda to the masses.

American IdolThe American Federation of Musicians filed a lawsuit on Friday against Productions. The paperwork says that Idol never obtained official permission from the union for “selling digitally-encoded audio files containing” songs played by the Idol band.

The musicians were never included in any monies or decisions regarding ringtones and song files sold by the show, which the legal paperwork claims violates the union agreement. The suits asks for $500,000 for damages and monetary compensation for the musicians’ pension fund.

That’s a sum which American Idol could easily afford.

Balloon Boy Story was Full of Hot Air, Charges Coming

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Reality, News, Video,

What may have started years ago in a Hollywood has come crashing to the ground in Colorado.

In a press conference earlier today, Sheriff Jim Alderden of Larimer County has confirmed that the balloon event from Thursday was indeed a hoax. “We have evidence at this point to indicate that it was a publicity stunt, done with the hopes of marketing themselves - or better marketing themselves - for a reality television show at some point in the future.”

This statement comes just two days after the police (intentionally) led the media into believing that they had bought the Heene family’s story. In fact, the former Wife Swap subjects had been under increased scrutiny by the media - and the authorities - after Falcon’s blunder during an interview with Wolf Blitzer.

TLC Sues Jon Gosselin

Jon and Kate Gosselin

The divorce circus is going to have to add another ring to the drama soon - TLC just jumped into the fray. As if Jon and Kate Gosselin didn’t have enough troubles trying to sever the bonds between them and fending off the press, now Jon’s got to worry about a new lawsuit.

The network announced last month that it would be pulling from its roster of shows, now featuring the Gosselins minus Jon in a new series dubbed Kate Plus 8. Upon hearing this, Jon Gosselin refused to give TLC admittance to taping sessions, called his lawyer and created quite the media ruckus.

Because of Gosselin’s actions, Kate Plus 8 is “suspended indefinitely.” Previously, the show was supposed to premiere on November 2. TLC’s lawsuit claims the network has lost $30,000 plus due to Jon’s behavior, contractual violations they obviously won’t take lying down.
