Scrubs

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe there’s a difference between “midseason” and “in the middle of the holiday season.”

Although ABC surprised many followers when they renewed for a ninth season, the network did something not so surprising to the show: They buried it.

Instead of waiting until after the holiday craziness died down, ABC chose to bring back the comedy during the height of the shopping season. Now the program - which will shift focus from the hospital to the classroom - will have a one-hour debut on December 1.

Maura Tierney Surgery Forces Delay of NBC’s Parenthood

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip, News

Maura TierneyJay Leno’s new show won’t be the only reason why NBC’s had to reshuffle this fall. A new series based on the 1998 movie Parenthood is now being delayed due to a medical situation.

On Friday, the network announced that the program was being pushed to midseason because of “medical evaluation” that actress was undergoing. Although NBC could not elaborate on the situation, the execs revealed that production would be delayed eight weeks.

Today, the ER star chose to open up about the matter. “In an effort to guard my privacy, it seems that the wording of NBC’s press release has unfortunately caused some confusion and undue alarm about my health. I have discovered a tumor in my breast which requires surgery. I will not know either my exact diagnosis or course of treatment until that surgery is performed. My doctors have all assured me this is a very treatable condition. I’m very optimistic as to the outcome and want to thank everyone who has sent positive thoughts and support. I look forward to going back to work soon,” her statement read.

Parenthood - which also features , Erika Christensen, Dax Shepard, Craig T. Nelson and Bonnie Bedelia - was scheduled to debut on September 23. It’s believed medical drama Mercy will now take its place.
