American Idol Snubs MySpace Contestants

American Idol has opened up the Internet as a viable for the first time ever in Season 10 - giving singers who haven’t the means, time or money to travel to one of the audition cities the chance to compete.

Here’s the rub: if they do get accepted for a callback, the MySpace singers have to fly to LA on their own dime. The show that makes millions of dollars just for using the Coca-Cola symbol every chance they get won’t even foot the bill for their own contestants.

Why was Scott MacIntyre Cut from American Idol Finale?

Scott MacIntyreBilly Joel

Days after the American Idol finale, there’s one question still lingers. (No - not whether Adam Lambert should do ballards or Broadway.) What really happened to Scott MacIntyre’s performance?

The answer to that mystery depends on who you believe: MacIntyre or Billy Joel’s camp.

According to a post on Scott’s MySpace page, his featured performance was cut due to an absent celebrity. The finalist had apparently been scheduled to play the piano opposite Matt Giraud in a “Tell Her About It” face-off. Unfortunately, a last-minute cancellation by Joel meant pulling the number altogether.

Will Real Housewives’ Kim Zolciak Really Make an Album?

Anyone with a pair of ears - or any set of standards - knows one thing: Kim Zolciak can’t sing. Unfortunately, that’s something the delusional star of refuses to believe.

Despite her disastrous recording session with producer Dallas Austin - and her cringe-inducing lesson with a vocal coach (that can be seen above) - Zolciak insists her career is still a go. In an interview with Essence magazine, the woman with the “God-given talent” warned us to be on the lookout for her upcoming single.

My first song, “Tight Rope,” will be out the first week in January, but I’m not sure when the album will be coming out. [Dallas Austin] wrote and produced it. He originally sent me three but I fell in love with the beat and lyrics. The song is about walking a tight rope with somebody. It [speaks] to my personal life and my relationship and just life in general. It definitely applies to my life, but after seeing that footage on the show where it looks like I can’t sing! I guess it makes for good television but it looked awful to me. People will just have to wait for my album to see the deal.

Paris Hilton on Paris

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, MTV, Gossip,

Paris Hilton‘s new reality show (in it, she’ll be searching for a new best friend) has not yet hit the small screen, but fans can keep up on the progress through her MySpace blog.

That is, you can keep up with it if you can get around the glaring spelling and grammatical errors - delivered in a sort of stream-of-consciousness fashion. Yet, amazingly, the heiress has penned a best-selling book. Hilton reports that shooting her show is “quite the experience, these people are amazing!” She adds: “Everyone of the contestants is very special in there own way,” and says all are “having the best time.”

According to Hilton’s blog, she took “some of the contestants” with her to Japan and Las Vegas. She cautions, however, “not everything is all fun and games.” She talks of “brutal” challenges and the fact that she doesn’t like the eliminations.

Paris added a note on her personal life, and actually threw in a plug for boyfriend Benji Madden’s blog. The show, by the way, will be coming to MTV in September.
