Gossip Girl Recap and Preview

With the premiere of only days away, it’s now time to get everyone up to speed.

If you’re not currently a fan - or if you’re a bit hazy on last season’s details - you can find a very quick recap after the jump. If you already know the difference between a Waldorf, a Humphrey and a Bass, you can just focus on the first five minutes of Season Two below.

Twin Peaks’ Amick Visits Gossip Girl

Madchen AmickWhen we last left , Nate - whose brief romance with Vanessa had just ended - was seen bonding again with Serena. Was this an indication that the two former lovers were going to reunite, or would they eventually find themselves back together with Blair and Dan?

While the outlook is still unclear for Miss van der Woodsen (), it looks like Mr. Archibald (Chace Crawford) will have soon have another woman enter the picture—and this one will come in the form of a cougar. According to E!, Madchen Amick (Twin Peaks) will be heavily involved in Nate’s world. She’ll also have some “surprising connection” to another new player on the show. I’m sure the Gossip Girl’s thumbs are all atwitter now.

You can look for Amick to begin her several episode-arc starting September 1.

This is one of two ads being used to promote ‘s return to the CW.  (The show will start airing new episodes starting April 21.) 

Don’t freak out.  This shot of Serena and Nate is from the drama’s pilot.  Another ad will focus on Blair and Chuck.

What do you think?  Is this campaign taking things a bit too far?  Or is it just tantalizing enough to make people want to watch?
