16-Year-Old Jamie Lynn Spears Pregnant
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Cable, Gossip
Wow. Wow. Somewhere Dina Lohan is breathing a sigh of relief right now…
If Britney Spears’ tumultuous year wasn’t quite enough for her mother, her younger sister has now officially put the icing on the cake. Jamie Lynn Spears, the 16-year-old star of Nickelodeon’s Zoey 101, is pregnant.
The network confirmed the news in a statement issued today:
“We respect Jamie Lynn’s decision to take responsibility in this sensitive and personal situation. We know this is a very difficult time for her and her family, and our primary concern right now is for Jamie Lynn’s well being.”
Well, at least Preston and Jayden will now have another kid to hang out with when their mommy goes shopping.

Nickelodeon Gets Kids Off the Couch
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Kids, Cable
Before I get into this post, let me first say that I’m absolutely giddy (yes, I said giddy) because I just finished watching My Name is Earl and The Office. How great is it that the fall season has started? Pretty darn fantastic… and I also can’t wait to watch the Ugly Betty premiere that I recorded on the DVR. Of course, it’s late and I won’t be able to get to that until tomorrow. But anyway… kids’ network Nickelodeon is doing their annual bit to get kids away from the TV by offering three hours of dead air on the channel this Saturday. From noon to three, kids are supposed to use the time to get out and play, rather than watching the tube. I think this is an admirable effort, but really… if there’s nothing on Nick, don’t they have a sea of other channels to choose from? Just being a naysayer, I suppose. Then again, I limit the amount of television my kids watch and they’d much rather play outside than watch the TV. Video games, however, that’s another story. I’ve had to literally implement a timer system or else they never want to stop playing! So, folks, take Nickelodeon’s lead and get your kids off the couch and active!
Did Vanessa Hudgens Send Photos to Drake Bell?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Kids, Music, Cable/Satellite, Gossip

An inside source is now telling People magazine that Vanessa Hudgens’ photo session links way back to another teen idol: Drake Bell, star of Nickelodeon‘s Drake & Josh.
Prior to her current stardom, Hudgens reportedly snapped and emailed several racy photos of herself to the actor. While it’s unclear if the two ever dated in real-life, she did appear in a 2006 episode of his show as his girlfriend. (Of course we all know by now that she is currently dating her High School Musical co-star, Zac Efron).
Bell’s rep claims that Drake never received those photos…though I’m sure he has by now.

Justin Timberlake Will Host Kids’ Choice Awards
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Award Shows, Cable, Cable/Satellite
Justin Timberlake is a kids’ favorite, so why not let the singer/actor host Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards? This is the 20th installment of the awards program, which lets kids pick their faves among movies, TV, music, sports, books, and video games. Wow, 20 years doesn’t even seem right. Has Nickelodeon even been around that long? At any rate, Timberlake, who has won the Kids’ Choice award for Best Burp twice, will get to show his worth as host. Will there be burping? You can probably bet on it. Timberlake is also nominated for best male singer. “While honoring kids’ opinions, it taps into the kid in all of us,” said Timberlake about the event. The Kids’ Choice Awards airs on March 31st—kids can vote online for their favorites beginning on March 5th.
