American Idol: Soon to Be Abdul-Free?

When word spread that the minds behind TV’s most popular show were adding a new female judge, the rumors quickly started that the “old” female judge is on the way out as a result. Thanks to some recent comments and movements made by Paula Abdul, gossip that she could be leaving American Idol are flying again. Only this time, they may have some basis in the truth.
OK! Magazine reports that Paula Abdul is going to “transition” out of Idol, and one source is quoted as saying the singer has a “new, secret venture” in the works. It can only be assumed this venture is not Paula Abdul’s RAH Cheerleading Bowl, which everyone already knows about. This cheer competition will air on MTV on Jan. 1.
Abdul, 45, had “no comment” on the rumors reported by OK!. It could be that a four-person panel is just too crowded for Paula, who has long lorded as the only female in the permanent cast. Kara DioGuardi will join the judges at the Idol table for the first time this year.
Last year, it was reported that American Idol was not-so-quietly polling viewers, asking them questions on every cast member and facet of the show. Could it be that Paula’s results weren’t so great? The show will premiere on January 13, though there’s no word on which members of the judging panel will be viewable in the first few (casting) episodes.

The Lohan vs. Cooper Battle Continues

Earlier this week on Live with Regis and Kelly, guest host Anderson Cooper offered his unedited opinions about the “train wreck” also known as Living Lohan. (You can view that hilarious segment here.)
In addition to calling the Lohan clan “horrific people,” he said that Ali Lohan was “allegedly a 14-year-old girl” who “looks to be about 60.” (For the record, I completely agree with that remark.)
And as Cooper had predicted, it didn’t take long before Dina Lohan offered her response to the journalist’s comments. (After all, that’s how she makes her money. She picks up the phone and makes sure statements are retracted.) Later that day, the mama bear told OK! that the “cruel” anchor would get it in the end. “This is bad karma for him.”

OK! Gives Britney Spears Layout the Okay
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Gossip, Rumors
Though reported to be an “absolute disaster,” the self-arranged Britney Spears photo shoot will appear in an upcoming issue of OK! magazine, according to TMZ sources. OK! was with Brit all day, where it was said Spears suffered from an “erratic” mood and paranoia, taking frequent breaks during the session. Allegedly, Spears also used her couture as a napkin – more than once, and with more than one outfit. OK! would rather run the spread than risk damaging the magazine’s relationship with Spears – or, at least, that’s the official story. The truth is, there are few things that sell as many magazines as celebrity train wrecks, and Britney is definitely one of those these days.
