Arr, Matey: Spike TV Docudrama Details Pirate Pursuits

Spike TV is all set to present Pirate Hunters: USN, which comes just on the wake of national news involving Somali pirates. The series showcases the U.S. Navy’s pursuit of pirates and piracy in the Gulf of Aden.
Though the series is in the same locale where piracy made recent headlines, the deal has already been in the works for months. The Navy has allowed cameras aboard the USS San Antonio and the USS Boxer, the latter of which was part of the recent rescue effort.
A Pirate Hunters pilot is in the works, but there’s no word on when it will air.

The Sad Reality (Shows) of Summer

After Lost, like Charlie, went into the great beyond (well, at least until 2008), my TiVo has become a vast, barren wasteland. Like any TV-deprived person, I’ve upped my Netflix queue, but that’s not enough. I’m still jonesing for new episodes of television, and lo and behold, these past two weeks I got to see the premiere of two new reality shows, “Ex-Wives Club” and “Pirate Master.” My thoughts now?
It’s going to be a long summer.
