Women’s Murder Club Forces Change for Men in Trees
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, ABC, News, Renewals
Just last month, I commented about the poor treatment Scrubs was receiving by its bosses at NBC. Now I’m starting to feel just sorry as for ABC’s Men in Trees—and I don’t even watch the show!
Earlier today, the Alphabet network finally got around to picking a return date for freshman show Women’s Murder Club. What does this have to do with Trees? Well, Club‘s three episode stint starting Tuesday, April 29th will not only force Boston Legal to find a new home elsewhere (Wednesdays @ 10pm starting April 30th), it will push Men in Trees off the calendar until….May 28th. That means the Anne Heche program will essentially be left to find an audience during the small summer season.
Now if a network really wanted to hate a show, wouldn’t it be nicer if they just came right out and said it? Seriously—how is anyone supposed to watch the series if they don’t know when it’s going to be on? That’s Marketing 101, people!

‘Lost’ Comes to ABC Thursdays
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Lost, Announcements
Good news, Lost fans. ABC has finally announced the show’s 2008 premiere date: Thursday, Jan. 31st.
That’s right. Thursday. The series will finally be moving to a plum day of the week. Granted, a few other programs will be going into repeats by that time —- but I have a feeling the producers won’t be complaining about a hand-me-down time slot.
Lost will air in Grey’s Anatomy’s former 9pm shift. It’s January debut will then be followed by ABC’s mid-season replacement, Eli Stone, @ 10pm.

This Week on TV (12/3-12/9)
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Food & Home, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, Bravo, Cable, CBS, FX, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Heroes, My Name Is Earl, Nip/Tuck, Top Chef

MONDAY (12/3)
- The Closer (TNT, 8pm): The special two-hour holiday episode brings Brenda’s parents into the investigative fold. Nothing says Christmas like talking blood with your blood.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): (NOTE: This is the last new episode left.) ‘Peter squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus.’ He shouldn’t fault Adam; the confusing storyline is to blame.
- K-Ville (FOX, 9pm): ‘Boulet and Cobb investigate an insurance adjuster’s murder.’ As if there weren’t enough people in New Orleans with a motive.
- Life (NBC, 10pm): (First half of the two-parter; 2nd half airs Wednesday). ‘Evidence points to Reese’s father in the murders that sent Crews to prison.’ I’m guessing this won’t be resolved anytime soon…otherwise, we wouldn’t have a show.

Thanksgiving Day TV
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Daytime, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Bravo, Cable, CBS, FOX, MTV, NBC, Top Chef
Thanksgiving Day is all about eating, and what goes perfectly with any meal? Plenty of TV – and all the major networks and cable channels will provide you with a feast this year, even despite the writer’s strike that has changed Primetime TV.
NBC promises traditional holiday fare with the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade (a long-standing Turkey Day event). This will be later followed by Miracle on 34th Street - the Natalie Wood version - which is a movie always worth watching. (I make it a point to watch this flick at least once every holiday season – it’s one of those must-holiday-haves, like It’s a Wonderful Life.)
Or, you can take a small deviation from long-standing tradition with CBS, which will be showing an alternate Thanksgiving Day parade. A handful of Price is Right episodes follow, but don’t worry – football starts at 2:00 pm. Meanwhile, FOX starts broadcasting their own NFL action at noon with Green Bay and Detroit.

Writers Strike: Changes For ‘24’ and ‘Prison Break’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, FOX, 24, Prison Break, News
The writers strike will obviously be doing a number to all the network schedules. Here are two big highlights announced today by FOX:
Not wanting to interrupt 24 only halfway through its day, the execs have decided to delay its premiere altogether. Season 7 had been scheduled to start Jan. 13/14; now the debut is on indefinite hold. If nothing else, maybe this will allow Kiefer Sutherland to serve his entire jail sentence all at once.
Speaking of jail, the boys at Prison Break will now be returning to the airwaves sooner than expected. The show was originally slated to end its fall run on Dec. 17th and return April 14th; it will now start its Christmas break after Nov. 12’s episode then return on Jan. 14th.

MONDAY (10/22)
**No new episode of Ellen today. She’s still recovering from all the doggy drama**
- Live With Regis and Kelly (ABC, syndicated): Jimmy Kimmel will be pulling double-duty this week as he fills in for Regis Philbin in NY and tapes his show in LA. (I’m guessing we’ll still be seeing him on Dancing With The Stars as well.) If we’re lucky, Guillermo will fill in for Gelman too.
- Prison Break (FOX, 8pm): The show returns tonight after being preempted by baseball last week. What? You don’t care either?
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): Many fans have been waiting for Kristen Bell’s debut tonight. Unfortunately, she’s one more new character I’ll have to ignore.
