Roseanne’s Return

Reports have surfaced that suggest Roseanne (these days, her last name is back to being Barr) will soon be returning to prime time network TV, a dozen years after her hit comedy series came to an end.
The comedienne has partnered with Caryn Mandabach (former producer on the hit series Roseanne), and the project has been pitched to FOX. Like her character in the long-running Roseanne, Barr will star in the new comedy series as a family matriarch.

CBS Brings Back TV Duo Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, CBS, Gossip
CBS will reunite two former Roseanne stars on the new comedy The Big Bang Theory. Johnny Galecki, who once played the husband of Roseanne’s daughter Darlene, stars in the new series as Leonard. Together with onscreen pal Sheldon (played by Jim Parsons), the two focus their attentions on a pretty neighbor played by Kaley Cuoco. Sara Gilbert will appear on the series, joining her former on-screen husband (Galecki) for an unspecified number of episodes. Gilbert will play Leonard’s co-worker and love interest on the series, though no one seems to know how long this will last, and it’s probably ratings that will decide. During her stint on ABC’s Roseanne, Gilbert earned two Emmy nominations.

Could Roseanne Replace Rosie?

After Rosie O’Donnell’s announcement that she’ll be leaving The View, the rumor mills were buzzing about possible replacements. Potential candidates mentioned include Kathy Griffin, Joan Rivers, and Connie Chung, among others. Looks like we have a front runner though with Roseanne Barr, with many speculating that her outspoken demeanor would fill the void nicely. Roseanne responded to the gossip, saying, “I would love the chance to do that… I think I would do a real good job. I’d stir up some real good controversy.” I’m willing to bet after the dust settles when Rosie leaves that the producers (and head Viewmaster Barbara Walters) may just want to steer clear of controversy for awhile. After all, O’Donnell provided more than her fair share of that.
