Battlestar Galactica Memorabilia Up for Auction
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, News

Looking for a special way to celebrate Battlestar Galactica‘s series finale? Why not consider taking a piece of the Sci Fi series home? Starting Friday, January 16th, NBC Universal will begin the process of auctioning off items from the show’s four seasons. The timing of the initial three-day event will coincide with Galactica‘s network return.
Participants visiting the Pasadena Convention Center will have the opportunity to attend live panels hosted by members of the program’s creative team. Friday’s preview day will then be followed by two days of rabid bidding on hundreds of items. Those unable to travel to California will luckily still have a chance to get in on the action online. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the United Way.

The International Ghost Hunt is Back On
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, Gossip
If you noticed a dismal lack of spooky thrills and chills this Wednesday evening, it’s probably because no new episode of Ghost Hunters aired to put us in touch with the paranormal. Sadly, the show will not return with fresh fear until September. In the meantime, you’ll just have to remain content with the show’s spin-off: Ghost Hunters International.
This European version of the show premiered on the SciFi Channel in January, and though it scored the highest premiere ratings any reality show on SciFi has ever seen (including its parent program), only seven episodes aired before the fourth season of Ghost Hunters premiered to sweep International back under the rug. Now, the original is out of new episodes. It’s time for the B crew to shine again.

Fox Hypes Up Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Action, Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, FOX, 24, Announcements, Internet, News, Video

Feeling quite guilty that I haven’t come across the Dollhouse trailer until now, I felt like I should make up for it by doing Fox a favor and spreading the love!
The trailer for this fall’s sci-fi drama (which you can check out after the jump) has been out and about on YouTube and select TV spots, getting many pretty excited about its premiere. After all, it is Joss Whedon’s first series since Firefly, which went off the air back in 2003 (surprisingly with the same network his new show is on).
Dollhouse, starring former Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS) favorite Eliza Dushku, focuses on a clandestine, illegal operation carried out by agents who have their memories and personalities completely erased after each mission. Dushku plays Echo, one operative who slowly starts to learn more and more about where she works over time—she becomes a known flaw in the system, if you will.
The series premieres in January on Fox, right before 24 in the Monday 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT spot.

Sarah Connor Chronicles Slated to Return
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, FOX, Renewals

Although the network hasn’t officially declared it ‘renewed’, TV Guide is reporting that Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will be returning for the 2008-09 season.
Despite all the money and promotion devoted to the show’s premiere, a ratings drop-off has had FOX execs wondering whether the series was too costly an investment. Apparently they’ve since decided it would be silly to try and create something else from scratch.
Good news, Summer Glau fans. You now have something to look forward to next year.

MONDAY (12/3)
- The Closer (TNT, 8pm): The special two-hour holiday episode brings Brenda’s parents into the investigative fold. Nothing says Christmas like talking blood with your blood.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): (NOTE: This is the last new episode left.) ‘Peter squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus.’ He shouldn’t fault Adam; the confusing storyline is to blame.
- K-Ville (FOX, 9pm): ‘Boulet and Cobb investigate an insurance adjuster’s murder.’ As if there weren’t enough people in New Orleans with a motive.
- Life (NBC, 10pm): (First half of the two-parter; 2nd half airs Wednesday). ‘Evidence points to Reese’s father in the murders that sent Crews to prison.’ I’m guessing this won’t be resolved anytime soon…otherwise, we wouldn’t have a show.
