Big Brother logoDespite lackluster ratings this winter, CBS has opted to run another edition of this upcoming summer. Although a start date has not yet been announced, it’s quite possible we’ll be seeing back-to-back installments of the reality show.

The voyeuristic program has been a staple on the Eye network’s summer schedule since 2000.  Thanks to the writers’ strike, a special season was ordered and began airing on February 12th.  Although the show has seen moderate success during the less crowded television calendar, it has experienced a large ratings hit during the colder months.  A lot of that blame goes to .

Big Brother‘s first eight seasons have primarily aired between July and September.

Judge Twiggy Leaving ‘America’s Next Top Model’

DescriptionIs there something about that female judges can’t stand?

When first debuted in 2003, Baby Phat’s graced the judge’s panel along Tyra.  Since that time, the producers have met the estrogen quota by introducing ‘The World’s First Supermodel’ and .

But now after 5 years with the ‘Living Legend’, we’ve learned of another new face for Season 10: .  The woman who was featured in many Sports Illustrated issues (and was quickly dismissed on last season’s Dancing With The Stars) will soon be warming Twiggy’s seat at the far end of the table.  According to the producers, the replacement was made due to ‘scheduling conflicts’ in Ms. Lawson’s schedule.  (Of course, we know that excuse could be used as loosely as ‘irreconcilable differences’.)

The Amazing Race Recap: Cheerleaders Throw in Their Pom-Poms

Amazing Race

It was a sad state of affairs for Team Cheerleaders as they were the third team to be eliminated on this 10th season of the Amazing Race. To add salt to their wounds, Kellie did not even complete the roadblock before she and Jamie had to take the walk of shame, already knowing that they were the last team to arrive. The teams were given the task to shoot a fire-tipped arrow at a target that seemed to be a mile away; there is no way I could have finished, my arrow would have probably ricocheted backwards and hit some innocent cow grazing in the pasture so I give props to Kellie for sticking it out ‘til the sun go-eth down on her. Leading up to their demise, they were given the wrong directions heading to their last roadblock so believing they were headed in the right direction, they gave the team of Lyn and Karlyn, the single moms, the lead they needed to secure a 9th place finish. I guess they can look at the bright side and think about all the beautiful scenery they were privileged to see on their drive to Mongolia: just breathtaking. Unfortunately for them, anything can happen, and everyone has a chance to win.
