Blake Lively Talks Serena of Gossip Girl
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip, News
Playing a super wealthy socialite on TV has both pros and cons, says Gossip Girl star Blake Lively.
Lively, who portrays Serena van der Woodsen, admits that when it comes to their closets, the two girls are strikingly similar: “I own half her wardrobe, so it’s far too similar to the way I dress.” Who could turn those clothes away!
On the other hand, Lively points out how crazy it is to portray the character at times: “I feel ridiculous at times with her, because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is absurd.’”
With that, she also added that she tends to feel her characters’ pain so much that it physically harms her. “I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, ‘You’re a feeler.’ I take on people’s pain a little too much.” While I’m unsure as to whether that’s an act, I can say that it sounds like Lively takes method acting to a whole other level.

Preview Clip from Gossip Girl’s New Season

A few weeks ago, we saw a few tantalizing clips of what Gossip Girl‘s second season has in store for us. Now we’re actually getting a glimpse of the miserable state Chuck Bass will be in this fall. (Could he actually be feeling guilt for what he did to Blair?)
My favorite part of this scene? Bass’ snooty response to the word ‘Jitney.’
Gossip Girl kicks off Monday, September 1 on the CW.

Twin Peaks’ Amick Visits Gossip Girl
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Gossip
When we last left Gossip Girl, Nate - whose brief romance with Vanessa had just ended - was seen bonding again with Serena. Was this an indication that the two former lovers were going to reunite, or would they eventually find themselves back together with Blair and Dan?
While the outlook is still unclear for Miss van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), it looks like Mr. Archibald (Chace Crawford) will have soon have another woman enter the picture—and this one will come in the form of a cougar. According to E!, Madchen Amick (Twin Peaks) will be heavily involved in Nate’s world. She’ll also have some “surprising connection” to another new player on the show. I’m sure the Gossip Girl’s thumbs are all atwitter now.
You can look for Amick to begin her several episode-arc starting September 1.

Is Gossip Girl’s New Ad Too Much?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, The CW, Gossip

This is one of two ads being used to promote Gossip Girl‘s return to the CW. (The show will start airing new episodes starting April 21.)
Don’t freak out. This shot of Serena and Nate is from the drama’s pilot. Another ad will focus on Blair and Chuck.
What do you think? Is this campaign taking things a bit too far? Or is it just tantalizing enough to make people want to watch?

‘Gossip Girl’ Fans To Get a Full Season
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, The CW, Announcements
Strong word-of-mouth has earned CW newbie, Gossip Girl, a full-season order. The Josh Schwartz (Chuck) series is a perfect replacement for those who loved his last production, The O.C. The show stars Blake Lively (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) as Serena van der Woodsen, a girl who returns to her vicious private school after mysteriously leaving town. Leighton Meester plays Blair Waldorf, Serena’s former best friend and current frenemy.
The catty series has so far proven to be a much darker version of our typical teenage dramas (imagine The O.C. plus Heathers). And with voyeuristic narration supplied by the anonymous ‘gossip girl’, things get to be so much cattier.
For those who have not yet watched the series, it’s not too late. The first two episodes are currently hot iTunes downloads. Once you get yourself caught up, you can find Gossip Girl on Wednesdays @ 9pm on The CW. I promise you—the backstabbing here is much more exciting than that Private Practice/Bionic Woman battle. Plus - you’ll come to learn valuable fashion lessons. Had I not watched last week, how would I have known that blue eyeshadow was back?
