Lena Dunham Wants Sex in ‘Girls’ to Help Women

Lena Dunham wants the sex in Girls to reflect real life.
The show's creator and star has revealed one of her motivations when wrote the series was to show the love lives of normal looking women in more realistic settings than some programs that have preceded Girls.
If her series can make women feel more comfortable with sex, even its more embarrassing aspects, then Golden Globe nominee Lena will be happy. Speaking in the February 2014 issue of Vogue magazine - on which she appears on the cover - Lena said, "There was a sense that I and many women I knew had been led astray by Hollywood and television depictions of sexuality. Seeing somebody who looks like you having sex on television is a less comfortable experience than seeing somebody who looks like nobody you've ever met. Critics said, 'That guy wouldn't date that girl!' It's like, 'Have you been out on the street lately?' Everyone dates everyone, for lots of reasons we can't understand. Sexuality isn't a perfect puzzle... It's a complicated thing. I want people ultimately, even if they're disturbed by certain moments, to feel bolstered and normalized by the sex that's on the show."

Alec Baldwin’s Show Pulled Over His Homophobic Slurs

Alec Baldwin's talk show has been pulled off air for two weeks.
The late night American program Up Late has been removed from the Friday night slot by MSNBC after claims the former 30 Rock actor made a homophobic slur against a photographer.
"I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have - and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support," the 55 year-old star said in a statement.
The star reportedly called the paparazzi photographer a ''f**'' hours after winning a court case against his stalker, but he said he didn't use the homophobic word and instead called the man a "fat head." In a blog post on Huffington Post, the actor said the future of his talk show was unclear. "Whether the show comes back at all is an issue right now," he wrote.
Grey’s Anatomy’s T.R. Knight Comes Out

I can’t believe this qualifies for big news—and People magazine says they have the ‘Exclusive.’ As if matters of one’s sexuality are newsworthy enough to be considered exclusive stories—why can’t people just leave gay/not gay out of the equation? Yet, here I am reporting the news as well for anyone interested—T.R. Knight, of Grey’s Anatomy, made a statement to People magazine today saying that he is gay. Knight plays Dr. George O’Malley on the series, and has also been seen on CSI:Crime Scene Investigation and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. According to Knight’s statement, “I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I’d like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there. While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I’m gay isn’t the most interesting part of me.” Well said.
