MONDAY (8/25)

- High School Musical: Get in the Picture (ABC, 8pm): “The six finalists attempt to learn TV theme songs from the 1970s and ‘80s.” Should we really allow these teens to butcher classic songs from before they were born?
- Deal or No Deal (NBC, 8pm): Season 4 premiere. Could this be the day that someone wins the million? Pleez. Do you think they’d give it up that quickly?
- America’s Toughest Jobs (NBC, 9pm): Series premiere. “Average Joes perform dangerous and physically demanding jobs in this competition series. The winner is awarded the annual salary of each job completed.” Aren’t Average Joes the ones already performing these jobs?

MONDAY (8/4)
- Teen Choice 2008 (FOX, 8pm): “Miley Cyrus hosts the 10th annual gala honoring achievement in entertainment, sports and fashion.” If kids are wearing things from the 80’s, could that really be considered an achievement in fashion?
- I Want to Work for Diddy (VH1, 9pm): Series premiere. “Applicants compete to be Diddy’s next personal assistant.” The more babies you have, the more umbrella holders you need.
- New York Goes to Hollywood (VH1, 10pm): Series premiere. “New York moves to L.A. to pursue her dream of becoming an A-list entertainer.” Ashley Dupre has proven that you can live in New York and do the same there.

Bravo Steals Another Reality Idea
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Food & Home, Prime Time, Reality, Bravo, Cable, FOX, Hell's Kitchen, So You Think You Can Dance, Top Chef, Editorial
As much as I love Bravo, am I the only one getting tired of their FOX reality rip-offs?
Today, the cable channel announced that it is producing a spinoff for one of Shear Genius‘s competitors from last season. Later this summer, the cameras will be following Tabatha Coffey as she “visits struggling salons in the Los Angeles and New York areas and literally takes over the establishments to whip them into shape.” While some may say a show about hair stylists has nothing to do with FOX, I say this production smells exactly like Kitchen Nightmares.
In fact, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover would be the second time Bravo has adopted a concept already seen on that other network. Hell’s Kitchen debuted in May 2005 while Top Chef coincidentally appeared in March 2006. And how about So You Think You Can Dance? That reality hit program played a part in Step It Up & Dance‘s debut this year.

MONDAY (6/30)
- American Gladiators (NBC, 8pm): “Four amateur athletes who successfully lost weight are featured.” That’s exactly the way Wolf likes them: nice and skinny.
- The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All (ABC, 9pm): “Fifteen of DeAnna’s suitors dish with - and about - the Bachelorette who let them get away.” Thankfully, this version is not the one we would get on MTV.
- 46664: A Concert for Nelson Mandela (VH1, 9pm): Those helping to celebrate Mandela’s life outside bars include performers who should be behind them (e.g. Amy Winehouse).
- Verminators (Discovery, 10pm): “The source of a roach infestation at an apartment building shocks Mike.” There’s a reason why they say ignorance is bliss.

MONDAY (6/23)
- I Love the New Millennium (VH1, 10pm): “Eight-part series featuring stars reminiscing about pop culture phenomena of the new millennium begins with the year 2000.” Is it too soon to wonder what VH1 will cover in 2011?
- Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods (MTV,10pm): “The ladies perform with a canine costar: Bruiser, the dog from the musical.” I had no idea Ashton Kutcher revived Punk’d.
- Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal (A&E, 10pm): “A 14-year-old boy, who claims to see spirits of people and animals, is introduced to siblings close to his age who supposedly have paranormal gifts.” I’m always happy when freaky kids find someone to play with.
- Weeds (Showtime, 10pm): “Celia’s hard time in county lock-up gets harder when her cellmate decides to make Celia her ‘special girl’.” Yeah - that would definitely suck.
