American Idol 8: Ringer Joanna Pacitti Ousted

Joanna PacittiFelicia Barton

Controversial American Idol contestant has been released from her duties with the show. Meaning, she’s been not-so-quietly kicked off America’s biggest reality competition.

“It has been determined that Joanna Pacitti is ineligible to continue in the competition. contestant Felicia Barton has replaced Ms. Pacitti as part of the Top 36.” This stunning statement appeared in the LA Times, just on the heels of the Top 36 being announced to the world (though Vote for the Worst came up with a full list - that turned out to be completely accurate - more than a week ago).

Prison Break’s Last Days on TV

Prison Break

To be perfectly honest, I never suspected would last beyond the first season. Like, who wants to watch some guys endlessly fail to break out of a jail? I always wondered where the show could possibly go, but FOX managed to surprise even me. Prison Break won awards, generated tons of buzz and enjoyed a four season run. But now, it’s all over.

Prison Break had a hell of a run, but the run has ended,” stated Kevin Reilly, FOX president, at a recent press event. “This will be the last year of the show.”

The official excuse is that the show has naturally “played out,” but the ratings for the drama have been decidedly down this year. So…how much longer will fans have to enjoy the show? “We’ve got our remaining batch of four episodes, and there are a couple more they’re contemplating,” said Reilly. Could these “couple more” episodes be the series finale or a movie-type ending?

Reilly says that a “really cool ending” is planned, and that “it’s a hell of an idea.”

Samaire ArmstrongSomebody call quick.  It looks like a Darling might need some help…

In a case of life imitating art, a star has called on her reps to smooth over a private matter.  Via a vague statement released by her publicist, we’ve learned (Entourage, The O.C.) has admitted herself into treatment for undisclosed reasons.

“Samaire Armstrong decided to enter an outpatient facility to deal with some personal issues in a therapeutic atmosphere and is doing very well.”

Whatever the reason—it apparently doesn’t require a lengthy Lohan-esque stay.  Armstrong will reportedly continue her work on the show.

Disney Reacts to Vanessa Hudgens Nude Photo

DisneyWell if you were wondering how Disney would react to the Vanessa Hudgen’s scandal, you can interpret their extremely short and simple statement for yourself:

“Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment.  We hope she’s learned a valuable lesson.”

If you notice very closely, the statement was very carefully worded and didn’t exactly scream full support for the star.  Money had been a rumored factor in the ongoing HSM3 negotiations—and my guess is that will now exploit this new situation to the hilt.  Hudgens would obviously be very lucky to still have a job at this point, but Disney is also smart enough to realize how popular the young star has become (for better or for worse).

Am I the only one wondering how Ari (Jeremy Piven) would handle this situation on ?
