Earlier coverage of The Masters golf tournament (and its convenient overrun) lifted CBS to a victory on an otherwise slow Easter Sunday.
8pm
- 60 Minutes/The Amazing Race (3.0/9 in 18-49) combined for 11.8 million.
- A 2-hour Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (9.4 million, 2.9/8) pulled in another 2.3 million.
- An expanded Dateline (6.4 million, 1.6/5) did better than the recently-moved Kings.
- The Simpsons* (4.7 million, 2.2/7) dropped 1.7 million; King of the Hill* (2.0/6) turned in 4.2 million.
- CW’s airing of Cutthroat Island (0.3/1) registered 1.4 million.

Sunday Ratings: Kings is No Ratings Ruler

One of these evenings NBC will get it right. Just days after witnessing a painful debut by The Chopping Block, the network did it again. Yesterday’s premiere of Kings failed to deliver any power to the Sunday night lineup. CBS wound up winning the viewers while ABC topped the demos.
8pm
- The Amazing Race 14 (10.4 million, 3.0/8 in 18-49) picked up 200,000.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (9.5 million, 3.0/8) did the same as last week.
- The Simpsons (6 million, 2.8/8) remained steady.
- Kings (6 million, 1.6/4) had the lowest demo of any original last night.
- King of the Hill (5.4 million, 2.4/6) added on 500,000.
- CW’s broadcast of Moonstruck (0.2/1) attracted 1.2 million.

Sunday Ratings: Slow Start for Amazing Race
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Amazing Race, The, Desperate Housewives, Family Guy, Ratings,
Maybe viewers were simply enjoying their three-day weekend? Whatever the reason, the 14th installment of The Amazing Race saw smaller numbers than it had in the fall. Fortunately for CBS, the network’s numbers were still enough for first place with the viewers. ABC, in the meantime, had a hold on the demos.
8pm
- The Amazing Race 14 (9.3 million, 2.7/7 in 18-49) was down 1 million from Season 13.
- Dateline (8.9 million, 2.1/5) picked up 1.9 million.
- Extreme Makeover: Home Edition* (8 million, 2.5/6) lost 2.4 million.
- The Simpsons (6.8 million, 3.2/8) picked up 2 million; King of the Hill (5.3 million, 2.5/6) added on 500,000.
- CW‘s airing of GoldenEye (0.5/1) entertained 1.8 million.

MONDAY 2/16)
- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “Chuck and Sarah go undercover as a happily married couple in surburbia.” A happy couple in surburbia? Isn’t the whole point to be inconspicuous?
- Jon & Kate Plus 8 (TLC, 9pm): “The Gosselins settle into their new home after the big move, but there’s still lots of work to be done.” And Kate will make sure Jon knows it.
- Kyle XY (ABC Family, 9pm): “Kyle reluctantly starts working at Latnok to repay his debt, and it’s not at all what he expects. Yet he still wants to quit, until he considers the Tragers’ current financial situation.” Back up a second—someone’s hiring?
- True Beauty (ABC, 10pm): “Contestants walk the red carpet with their parents, but there are also several secret tests of manners going on.” In other words, pushing mom out of your spotlight would be inadvisable.

MONDAY 2/9)
NOTE: A President Obama press conference will interfere with the previously scheduled programming.
- The Secret Life of the American Teenager (ABC Family, 8pm): “Ben and Amy’s relationship hits a rough patch when Ben tells her he needs some space.” The pressure of buying a Valentine’s Day gift was just too much for him.
- One Way Out (Discovery, 9pm): “The host braves a high-speed barrage of tennis balls and steep plunges into kiddie pools before becoming the projectile in a human catapult.” Idiotic stunts have just become more financially appealing.
- The Girls of Hedsor Hall (MTV, 9pm): Series premiere. “In the opener, 12 rude and crude bad girls from the U.S. enroll in a British finishing school for a chance to transform their lives and win a $100,000 trust.” The goal? To become the next Amy Winehouse or Lily Allen.
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “Horatio believes that prominent defense attorney (Sean Combs) is involved in the cover-up of a murder.” Diddy doesn’t cover-up murders. That’s what his personal assistants are for.
