Watch Old Favorites on TheWB.com

Buffy the Vampire SlayerIf you’ve found yourself without a plan on this Labor Day Weekend, there’s a new way to keep yourself busy online.

Earlier this week, viewers of the old WB were given a free way to watch some of their now-cancelled shows. At TheWB.com, fans can access programs just like they would on any other network-sponsored site. Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Smallville, Angel, Everwood, Roswell, One Tree Hill and Gilmore Girls are amongst the selections offered.

Meanwhile, other shows that didn’t originate on the WB (but were produced by Warner Bros.) are also included on the site. That list is comprised of such titles as , The O.C., Veronica Mars, Babylon 5 and Firefly.

Although the number of episodes are currently limited, fresh hours will be posted weekly.

Mischa Barton a Rumored Gossip Girl

Mischa BartonAlthough she was killed off her last show, has apparently been invited to join another Joss Schwartz series: .

The O.C. native was asked to star as Georgina Sparks, a character who would bring Serena’s not-so-wholesome past to the forefront.

Although I was initially apprehensive upon hearing the news - I’d really like to see the program survive on its own merits - I quickly had a change of heart.  If stunt casting is what it takes to get the show some attention, then I’m all for it.

But wouldn’t ya know it - Barton apparently thinks she’s too good for the series.  Although she really hasn’t done anything noteworthy lately (unless you count her recent DUI and marijuana charges), her reps have advised her to pass.

You know what?  Screw Barton.  Let’s bring her ex-mommy, Melinda Clarke, into the fold.  Now that would make things a bit more interesting!

The Closer

MONDAY (12/3)

  • (TNT, 8pm):  The special two-hour holiday episode brings Brenda’s parents into the investigative fold.  Nothing says Christmas like talking blood with your blood.
  • (NBC, 9pm):  (NOTE:  This is the last new episode left.)  ‘Peter squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus.’  He shouldn’t fault Adam; the confusing storyline is to blame.
  • (FOX, 9pm):  ‘Boulet and Cobb investigate an insurance adjuster’s murder.’  As if there weren’t enough people in New Orleans with a motive.
  • (NBC, 10pm): (First half of the two-parter; 2nd half airs Wednesday).  ‘Evidence points to Reese’s father in the murders that sent Crews to prison.’  I’m guessing this won’t be resolved anytime soon…otherwise, we wouldn’t have a show.
