VIDEO: David Letterman Fixes (Most) of NBC’s Problems

If the Peacock execs had listened to David Letterman, maybe they could have kept Conan O’Brien from walking way from The Tonight Show. After all, who knows more about late-night drama than the man once screwed over by NBC?

Last night, the Late Show host came up with an idea that could have made Jay Leno, Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon happy. (Unfortunately, Dave had “no solutions” as to how to help , the man who’s like “the Pluto of talk shows.”)

Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno

Somewhere Jimmy Fallon and Carson Daly are breathing a sigh of relief.

Days after NBC Universal TV chairman Jeff Gaspin formally announced NBC’s proposed programming plans, Conan O’Brien gave his formal response. The network will now have one less person to juggle in their late-night schedule.

The Jay Leno Show Leaving Primetime on February 12

Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno

Although the drama surrounding NBC’s late-night schedule is still ongoing, two things were finally made clear by NBC Universal TV chairman Jeff Gaspin today:

  1. The Jay Leno Show will air its final 10:00 broadcast on February 12.
  2. The network has asked Conan O’Brien and Jimmy Fallon to adjust their start times by 30 minutes.

The decision, which was revealed at the Television Critics Assn. Press Tour, was reportedly a result of increased pressure by the local affiliates. It wasn’t a reaction to Jay Leno’s actual work.

It may have taken over 24 hours, but has finally had his say.

Although Jay Leno managed to turn around jokes yesterday about NBC’s late-night drama, the Tonight Show host remained mum on the subject…that is until now.

How will the 11:30 PM time issue finally be resolved? My favorite rumor: Jay and Conan will be joining the cast of Jersey Shore as a new character called “The Awkward Situation.”

Jay Leno Reportedly Moving Back to 11:30

UPDATE: TMZ claims O’Brien has a choice—take the later slot or leave the network.

“Hey, Kev—what does NBC stand for? Never Believe your Contract.”

Although he’s at the center of possible new shakeup at his network, Jay Leno used the opportunity to crack a few jokes about the awkward situation tonight.

Will the The Jay Leno Show be canceled as rumored? Possibly. But there’s an entirely different scenario that seems far more likely.

VIDEO: Sarah Palin Does a Reading for The Tonight Show

Former Alaskan governor went rogue Friday evening when she made an unexpected appearance on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.

Her entrance came shortly after “master thespian” wrapped up a dramatic interpretation of her book Going Rogue. Although she thought Bill did a “great job,” she wanted a chance to do her own reading.

“I think it’s only appropriate then that I read a few choice excerpts from Mr. Shatner’s autobiography, Up Till Now,” Palin stated.

If only her debates were as amusing. Oh wait…
