American Idol Elimination: Did I Miss Something?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip

Undoubtedly, the elimination of Michael Johns from American Idol is the most shocking thing to happen all season. The fans and the media have responded with the usual surprise and speculation, but as the smoke clears a new twist has been revealed: outrage and hatred toward host Ryan Seacrest.
Generally urbane and non-threatening, Seacrest is set up to be one of the more likable aspects of the show. He seems to commiserate with contestants, makes snarky comments at Simon Cowell and always grandly announces when it’s time for another new episode to begin. We’ve seen him hug family members, laugh with contestants and do some serious live-TV damage control. So why are so many fans demanding his head on a platter?

First Four Idol Castoffs Fail to Inspire Tears
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Editorial, Video

Call me cold-hearted, but I did experience an element of delighted, albeit mean-spirited, glee during Thursday night’s American Idol elimination show. With the exception of one contestant, I was singularly pleased with the results. (America, so far you are choosing well.) Again, with the exception of one. But Thursday nights on FOX are less about eliminations and more about shameless self-promotions, as the strange show proved.
First, props to the producers for listening to me. After I pointed out the disgraceful lack of style and fashion sense among the males, some kind stylist got ahold of them all and put them in perfectly matched black suits. Even their white button-ups were identical. This is what I’ve been saying - if the contestants can’t dress themselves, please someone do it for them. Before they take the stage next time, mmkay?

‘Lost’ Comes to ABC Thursdays
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Lost, Announcements
Good news, Lost fans. ABC has finally announced the show’s 2008 premiere date: Thursday, Jan. 31st.
That’s right. Thursday. The series will finally be moving to a plum day of the week. Granted, a few other programs will be going into repeats by that time —- but I have a feeling the producers won’t be complaining about a hand-me-down time slot.
Lost will air in Grey’s Anatomy’s former 9pm shift. It’s January debut will then be followed by ABC’s mid-season replacement, Eli Stone, @ 10pm.

‘Big Shots’ (Temporarily?) Pulled Off Schedule
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, ABC, Announcements
While most studios would be willing to beg, borrow or steal for any fresh material they could get nowadays, ABC has elected to shelve some of its original programming.
Instead of airing the three remaining episodes of Big Shots, the Alphabet Network will run repeats of Private Practice in its Thursday 10 PM time slot. Effective immediately.
Had ABC simply canceled Shots after its horrible pilot, I wouldn’t have cared less. But why stop now? The November sweeps period is already over; ratings don’t matter. The network should at least throw a bone to the show’s few fans instead of robbing them during the holidays.
And I thought it was the Grinch that stole Christmas…

This Week on TV (12/3-12/9)
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Action, Animation, Comedy, Drama, Food & Home, Kids, Music, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, Bravo, Cable, CBS, FX, FOX, NBC, The CW, ER, Heroes, My Name Is Earl, Nip/Tuck, Top Chef

MONDAY (12/3)
- The Closer (TNT, 8pm): The special two-hour holiday episode brings Brenda’s parents into the investigative fold. Nothing says Christmas like talking blood with your blood.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): (NOTE: This is the last new episode left.) ‘Peter squares off against former friends thanks to Adam’s confusing story about the Shanti virus.’ He shouldn’t fault Adam; the confusing storyline is to blame.
- K-Ville (FOX, 9pm): ‘Boulet and Cobb investigate an insurance adjuster’s murder.’ As if there weren’t enough people in New Orleans with a motive.
- Life (NBC, 10pm): (First half of the two-parter; 2nd half airs Wednesday). ‘Evidence points to Reese’s father in the murders that sent Crews to prison.’ I’m guessing this won’t be resolved anytime soon…otherwise, we wouldn’t have a show.

MONDAY (11/26)
- Dancing With the Stars (ABC, 8pm): The final three competitors dance tonight. ABC’s domination of Monday nights officially ends today.
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8pm): ‘Barney loses his mojo just as he gets an invite to a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show party.’ I’m willing to overlook another Heidi Klum sighting just to see Neil Patrick Harris squirm.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9pm): NOTE NEW START TIME.
- Notes from the Underbelly (ABC, 9:30): Season premiere. So how exactly does this show work? Does someone always have to be pregnant?
- October Road (ABC, 10pm): After it’s Thanksgiving debut, the show now slides into its regular time slot (where I predict it will soon slide right out of).

MONDAY (11/12)
- Prison Break (FOX, 8pm): ‘Lechero reveals a secret buried beneath Sona.’ He’s been linked to the Lost hatch this whole time. (NOTE: This will be the last new Prison episode until Jan. 14th.)
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): ‘The calendar turns back four months.’ Does this mean the writers still have a chance to redo this whole season?
- Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm): ‘Charlie finds success as a children’s singing star.’ He becomes The Wiggles’ new green-shirted guy.
- The Bachelor: The Women Tell All (ABC, 10pm): This is their opportunity to make up for any embarrassing moments they didn’t have a chance to create.

**NBC will devote this whole week to the environment and inject something ‘green’ into all their shows. To enjoy it, we must turn on our TVs.**
MONDAY (11/5)
**Special times for the ABC lineup tonight; Dancing With The Stars runs until 9:45 (pushing everything else 15 minutes late).**
- Prison Break (FOX, 8pm): Two-hour episode. Michael finally learns that Sara has been murdered tonight. I’m curious to see how steely his eyes can get.
- Everybody Hates Chris (CW, 8pm): ‘When Chris joins the writing staff of the school newspaper, he makes up a story about a serial killer that causes a panic in the community.’ This is what people get when they don’t pay for a real newspaper.
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8pm): ‘Marshall learns Lily’s dirty little financial secret when he and she decide to buy an apartment.’ As Suze Orman would say: “If he didn’t realize how many pairs of shoes she had, he’s equally to blame.”
- The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8:30pm): ‘The guys ask Penny to join their ‘Halo’ team.’ The only time boys ask me to play Halo is when they need someone to kill.

- Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm): “Charlie’s girlfriend does not like to be seen with him in public.” She’s afraid she’ll be attacked by Denise Richards.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30): “Sam assumes her role as a bridesmaid at a friend’s wedding, but upon arriving, she learns that the friend does not want her there.” If only she knew that before she paid for the dress.
- The Bachelor (ABC, 10pm): “The final four contestants bring Brad home to meet their parents.” The dads all envy his cool beard.
- Californication (Showtime, 10:30pm): Season finale. Hopefully I’ll stop singing the Chili Peppers song now.
