American Idol 9: Idol Gives Back, Top 7 Results

At the top of the Idol Gives Back spectacular, host Ryan Seacrest immediately introduced the President of the United States and his First Lady, Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama. Two praised the Idol Gives Back event and urged viewers to contribute to the cause. In his typical contemporary fashion, President Obama then gave a message to the Idol contestants: “As Randy Jackson says, you’re all my dogs.”
Ryan then reappeared on stage to introduce the judges and hype up the crowd. Queen Latifah served as the host of the event at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, which was filled with a screaming crowd.
The Top 12 were brought back together for the first group performance of the night, an incredibly weak number. The only big moment in the song was given (predictably) to Crystal Bowersox. Could this show please make it more obvious that they want her to win? I’m not sure the astronauts on the space shuttle have managed to get the message yet - they’re so far away, and all.

Swift, Wentz, Cuomo, and Barker Appear in New Band Hero Ad

Continuing with its string of Risky Business-inspired commercials, Activision’s latest TV spot stars Taylor Swift, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo, and Blink-182’s Travis Barker. With a quartet like that, how could any marketing exec not feel accomplished at what she does?
Shot last week in Los Angeles by director Brett Ratner, the four musicians rock out to Taylor’s song, “Love Story” (seen after the jump). It’s cute how the guys are slightly dwarfed by Taylor’s model-esque height. The game is out in stores now.
I want to play Band Hero with Rivers Cuomo!

Former reality sweethearts Shanna Moakler and Travis Barker documented their love on their MTV series Meet the Barkers. Then the beauty queen and the rocker called it quits. Now it looks like they’re heading for a make-up. Moakler told People magazine, “I’m madly in love with my husband.” This comes on the heels of a 32nd birthday bash that Barker had for Moakler in Miami over the weekend. A party guest said, “They were really affectionate with each other all night long. They really looked loving and happy.” They were also seen together holding hands and kissing on the beach. Whether or not the couple will stick it out for the long haul remains to be seen. Barker filed for divorce last August.

God forbid Paris Hilton should stay out of the headlines for even one day. The latest is an accusation by Paris that Shanna Moakler punched her at a Hollywood nightclub. The incident was said to have occurred early on Wednesday, according to police and Hilton’s publicist. Moakler’s side of the story is a little different: she said that Hilton’s ex, Stavros Niarchos, hurt her by bending her wrists and pushing her down stairs—this is according to Moakler’s publicist. Anyone else exhausted about this whole situation? Both filed police reports about their individual battery attacks, with Hilton saying that Moakler “used the most vile language” then punched her in the jaw. Moakler, former MTV reality star and Dancing With the Stars reject said she and Hilton “exchanged profanities,” then Niarchos threatened to hurt her. The police are investigating the incident and will speak with witnesses at the club to get the story. Girls, if this is all over Travis Barker, you need help.
