Fox Hypes Up Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse

Feeling quite guilty that I haven’t come across the Dollhouse trailer until now, I felt like I should make up for it by doing Fox a favor and spreading the love!
The trailer for this fall’s sci-fi drama (which you can check out after the jump) has been out and about on YouTube and select TV spots, getting many pretty excited about its premiere. After all, it is Joss Whedon’s first series since Firefly, which went off the air back in 2003 (surprisingly with the same network his new show is on).
Dollhouse, starring former Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BTVS) favorite Eliza Dushku, focuses on a clandestine, illegal operation carried out by agents who have their memories and personalities completely erased after each mission. Dushku plays Echo, one operative who slowly starts to learn more and more about where she works over time—she becomes a known flaw in the system, if you will.
The series premieres in January on Fox, right before 24 in the Monday 8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT spot.

Preview the Nasty Tension on The Two Coreys
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Video,
Last summer on The Two Coreys, the series hit a painfully awkward note when the subject of The Lost Boys came up. Corey Feldman had to let Corey Haim know that a sequel to the vampire flick was going to be made without him. (Since that announcement, things have changed.)
Come this weekend, Season 2 will once again reach some very dramatic moments. In the clip below, the friends (?) have a very heated confrontation about some deep dark secrets from their past.
If you want to see how this whole thing plays out, tune in this Sunday night @ 10pm on A&E. In the meantime, relive the moment when Haim finds out about Lost Boys 2 after the jump.

If Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough Were Still On DWTS

Hoping to drag out their
fifteen minutes of fame as long as possible, Dancing with the Stars’ Shannon Elizabeth and Derek Hough decided to take their partnership to YouTube. Although the real-life couple was booted off the ABC series in Week 7, the two have not yet stopped dancing. In fact, the lovebirds apparently still think about what could have been.
In a 6.5-minute clip (which can be seen after the jump), the former dance partners deliver a dream-like version of the Foxtrot they never had a chance to perform. They also attempt to poke fun at themselves while spending a nauseating amount of time in each other’s arms.

Trailer for new FOX series Fringe
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Sci-Fi/Horror, FOX,
What we have here is a 3.5 minute promotional trailer for the new FOX series Fringe, which is set to begin airing this fall. I didn’t expect too much from it, even if it did have J.J. Abrams name on it - but after watching the trailer, I am just left asking myself if this guy is the master of being associated with fantastic shows with high production value that involve airplane crises? I can’t wait for this one, as I am hoping that the series is as good as the trailer makes it out to be.

Although it’s been a while since we’ve seen Robin Sparkles on American television (she was discovered back in November 2006), fans won’t have to wait much longer.
Come April 21, How I Met Your Mother‘s favorite Canadian pop star (a.k.a. Robin’s early years) will be showing us a much softer side. Here’s a preview of her Debbie Gibson-esque ballad “Sandcastles in the Sand.” (Check out the other ‘80s icons in the clip.)
If you haven’t had the chance to experience Robin’s breakout hit, “Let’s Go to the Mall”, you can see that video after the jump. Those wanting even more Sparkle can also learn about the acid wash loving singer through her MySpace page.

Digging Up the Dirt on More American Idols
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video,
We all knew someone from American Idol would eventually have their trash uncovered….but four different contestants?
Last week, Amanda Overmyer’s brush with the law was revealed. This week, we have a foul-mouthed boy, a former male stripper and a girl who likes to take semi-racy photos with her friends.
First up - Danny Noriega. I’ve hated the pouty mouth singer from Day One. (His attitude overrides any shred of talent he might have.) Now there’s this video that has surfaced on MySpace. It may have been intended as a joke, but I fail to see the humor in it. (I do like making fun of him though.)

- Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8:30pm): The reunion of Johnny Galecki and Sara Gilbert happens tonight.

While we won’t be getting a super-sized two-hour premiere, we are still looking forward to seeing what doom looms over the cast this time around. NBC gives us a glimpse at the new season in the video above - join the hype and check it out.
The 2007 MTV Video Music Awards
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Music, Prime Time, Cable, MTV, Cable/Satellite,
Before this evening’s festivities begin, the producers of the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards should really thank the scandal-plagued artists who’ve unintentionally thrown publicity their way. Tonight, we’ll be thinking about those performers who’ve canceled because they need to be in rehab (Amy Winehouse) and closely watching those who should probably go back (Britney Spears).
We’d been warning you for weeks that this would be a one-time only telecast, but in case you forgot—we hope this helps. And for those who live on the West Coast (like me), you can play along and read our coverage as if it were in real-time:

Only One Chance To Watch MTV’s VMAs
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Music, Specials, Cable, MTV,
I’m honestly not sure if anyone cares anymore—because I know I stopped a long time ago—but don’t say I didn’t warn you…
Unlike recent years when you could catch a rerun of the MTV Video Music Awards for weeks on end (usually following an episode of Sweet Sixteen), the cable channel has finally smartened up and made it a more exclusive event. Why cheapen a show by milking it to death? Then again, this is coming from a network that has already cheapened it’s image thanks to the mere presence of Next and (
insert the name of any other MTV show here).
So in hopes of bringing back the audience that has disappeared during the show’s premiere time slot, the channel will air 2007’s telecast one time only. In other words, they are basically following the lead of every other high-profile awards program (e.g. The Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes) that forces people to gather in large numbers at one time. Additionally, the network is promising to revamp the telecast overall and has even brought on uber-producer Timbaland to be the evening’s musical director. Now if they can promise me that Britney Spears will make the rumored surprise appearance (and does a trash-tastic performance at that)—I’ll be there. Better yet, I hope she cancels unexpectedly.
Take note: The Moon Men will be handed out on September 9th from the Palms Casino in Las Vegas.
