Finale: I’m A Celebrity Gets Out of Here

As the final three celebrities waited to hear the results, the finale of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Here proceeded…with a ton of clips.
Out of thirteen who came to Costa Rica, only John Salley, Lou Diamond Phillips and Torrie Wilson remain. This outcome was determined at Tuesday’s elimination, which saw the end of Sanjaya Malakar and Patti Blagojevich in the competition. At intervals during the finale, live cameras showed this group of three sitting around the fire, silently waiting for whatever would come next.
For this season ender, the competitors of the season - minus Frangela - returned or remained in Costa Rica to gather for the cameras. “I been callin’ every day, trying to get back in,” Spencer Pratt told the hosts.

American Idol 8: Finale!
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video
Weeks of auditions, eliminations and memorable performances would finally culminate in a single evening of music and melodrama. Yes, it’s the finale of American Idol 8.
Various celebrities sat in the crowd as Ryan Seacrest warmed up the episode. Almost 100 million votes were logged after Tuesday’s performance round.
A montage of Randy Jackson clips served as the dog’s intro, he who, for reasons quite beyond me, wore a bow tie for the evening. Kara DioGuardi moments followed, and I never realized she had such a tendency to use the word “sweetie.” She looked great for the evening, at least. The same can’t be said for Paula Abdul, who wore a hideous ensemble. Her clip showed her saying a lot of words, the meanings of which she likely doesn’t understand. Simon Cowell’s video tribute was, of course, the most entertaining of all.
The host then introduced the two stars of the evening: Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. The judges stood up for the men as they took the stage. Each wore white; both looked very different. The sound equipment was hardly functioning when the two touched based with Seacrest.
A gaggle of girls stood in Conway, Arkansas (Kris Allen country) to hear the results. Carly Smithson reported from Symphony Hall (what a sad gig), where Lambert fans gathered to await the final vote count. But each camp would sit through many more video clips, performances, and general hoohah before they would find out what they most wanted to know: who won?

Simon Cowell Still Singing the Same Tune
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip

For many weeks, American Idol judge Simon Cowell has made no bones about throwing his support - and prediction - behind one standout competitor. Now that the contest is winding down and a winner will soon be declared, Cowell hasn’t changed a note of the song he’s been singing.
Idol’s famously critical judge is still supporting Adam Lambert. Just recently the judge appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show singing the crooner’s praises. “He’s got swagger,” Simon smiled. The judge has said many times that Lambert will win the contest.
And they way the judges, the media and the producers of the show have been pushing Adam all season, Simon Cowell will probably be proved right.

American Idol 8: Simon Cowell’s Prediction
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip
“I would put my money on Adam and Danny,” Simon Cowell, American Idol’s notoriously hard-to-please judge, was open about his predictions for the finale (scheduled to air May 19).
The competition has been narrowed down to five: Allison Iraheta, Kris Allen, Matt Giraud, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey. “It is going to be Adam and somebody,” Cowell predicted for the finale. “I would like to see Adam and Danny, because I think they are the best two singers, and at the end of the day that is what should happen.”
American Idol’s eighth season has been marked by changes. This year, the Wild Card round was reintroduced, the judges’ save was used and a fourth judge has been added to the panel. The media is convinced that Kara DioGuardi is on her last leg with the show…but what does Simon Cowell say about it?
“I like Kara. The more I get to know her, the more I like her,” Cowell told reporters. “You can’t make the same show for ever. You have got to make changes, because people will get bored.”

David Cook Going Off the Singles’ Market?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip, Video
Seventh season American Idol winner David Cook won hearts with his edgy look and sound, gaining notice early for his self confidence and unique stylings. But this single guy may not stay that way for much longer.
Last week, David Cook enjoyed a dinner date with second Idol season competitor Kimberly Caldwell (eliminated in seventh place). Don’t remember the name? You might also recognize Kim as the bubbly blonde who hosts on the TV Guide channel, notably the show Idol Tonight (a series dedicated to breaking down Idol performances and interviewing contestants). Cook recently told Regis and Kelly that “we’ll probably hang out again.” (You can see video of the two of them together after the jump.)
Don’t worry ladies, one date does not a committed guy make. You might still have a chance.

American Idol: Season Seven Winner Announced
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Editorial

The seventh season of American Idol culminated last night in a spectacular, two-hour grand finale event. The fans, the fanfare, the Davids - it was a truly great show.
The men of the hours, Davids Archuleta and Cook, appeared in white for the opening sequence. Ryan Seacrest announced that the winner of the contest secured 56% of the vote. More than 96 million votes were logged, a record-breaking number, but of course voters had four hours after Tuesday’s performance (instead of the usual two) to make their wishes known.

Does Tivo Reveal a Survivor Elimination?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, CBS, Survivor, Editorial, Gossip, Spoilers

Warning: Possible spoiler ahead!
I’m not sure if my recent discovery was merely a coincidence, but I found it quite interesting. While going through my DVR for the week, I noticed this Sunday’s Survivor: Micronesia finale left out one name from its summary.
For those who own Tivos, it’s not uncommon to see names of actors and/or competitors in a show description. But when a reality show only has five challengers left, does it mean something when only four of them are listed?

Simon Cowell Makes His American Idol Selection
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Features, Gossip
Up until now, Simon Cowell has been very cautious about airing any Idol predictions, probably in fear of a potential backlash. But Cowell didn’t hold back on today’s edition of Extra. I’m guessing Terri Seymour’s association with the show probably had something to do with him being extra chatty. (Terri being his girlfriend, of course.)
According to the American Idol judge, David Archuleta will ultimately be crowned this season’s winner. Simon cited the 17-year-old’s likability and looks (coupled with his ability) as the reasons for his choice.
While I believe David’s “Aw-shucks” attitude will soon tire with me (if it hasn’t already), I have to admit tonight’s rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine was undeniably gorgeous. (If you missed the show, you can see him take the stage after the jump.) Sadly, based on Tuesday’s generally crappy performances, Archuleta really wouldn’t have to do much to take it all.
