Even though the ceremony (barely) won its hour, the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards couldn’t muster enough primetime attention to topple a list of repeats. CBS wound up winning the viewers and ended up in a four-way tie in the demos.
8pm

- The Daytime Emmy Awards (1.2/4 in 18-49) attracted 5.39 million soap watchers.
- Ghost Whisperer* (5.38 million, 1.4/5) was a close second.
- Friday Night Smackdown (3.86 million, 1.3/5) did the same as a week ago.
- Most Outrageous Moments* (3.77 million, 0.9/3) was down slightly.
- Planet of the Apes (3.51 million, 1.3/5) was on par with last Friday.

Okay - so it wasn’t exactly a win. And it really wasn’t by much. But this is the first time I can recall ever saying CW was tied for the lead in the overnight demos. (It shared the honor with ABC.) CBS, meanwhile, was yesterday’s most-watched network.
8pm

- Ghost Whisperer* (1.0/4 in 18-49) had 5.1 million spooked.
- Approximately 4.9 million laughed along with America’s Funniest Home Videos* (1.4/6).
- Most Outrageous Moments* (3.93 million, 1.1/4) was down about a 1/2 million.
- Friday Night Smackdown (3.86 million, 1.3/5) pumped up 3.86 million.
- FOX’s airing of Hollywood Homicide (0.9/3) pulled in 3.49 million.
