ABC Departure Gossip: Grey’s Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Brothers & Sisters

Grey's Anatomy

Some of your favorite ABC shows might look a little different in the months to come:

Grey’s Anatomy: Do the producers have a thing against blondes? Or sexually ambiguous blondes? Although there was possibility Sadie Harris would be sticking around Seattle Grace for a while, ‘s stint on the show has now ended. The actress - who was originally contracted for at least four episodes - wound up playing intern for a total of eight.

Despite George’s claim that it was her decision to leave the show, sources tell EW that the parting was fairly mutual. (“Melissa’s arc came to a natural end,” reports an insider.) Fortunately for viewers, Sadie’s exit won’t be as random as Erica Hahn’s. “It won’t be a big send-off, but it’s really cool what they do,” George reports.

Ugly Betty: Will Betty Suarez need a new friend to actually give her fashion advice? According to E! Online, actress Ashley Jensen (Christina McKinney) is looking to leave the show. Whether this means she’ll be completely absent from Season 4 or just reduced to a recurring character is unknown. This is assuming the producers even agree to let her go. She does still have that Meade baby to deliver after all.

Brothers & Sisters: The rumors behind Balthazar Getty’s possible exit grew louder this past weekend during Golden Globe festivities. Instead of outright denying the reports, his coworkers hinted that there was trouble back on the set.

Matthew Rhys (Sienna Miller’s ex) told E!, “I think the show is going through a slight transition period.” He added, “How much we’ll see him next season, I don’t know.” Meanwhile, Golden Globe nominee also delivered a carefully worded response on the matter. “We’re a family. We’ll get through it. And all I can say is we love him very dearly, and I’m seeing him on Monday, and I feel very good about that.”
