Amy PoehlerIn the past few years, fans of the creatively-uneven have seen several great female members leave. First there was Tina Fey, then Maya Rudolph. Now it looks as if Lorne Michaels will soon have another void to fill.

Earlier today, Amy Poehler confirmed to the Associated Press that she too will become part of NBC’s primetime programming. The comedienne, who was just nominated for her SNL work, is set to star in the spinoff of The Office.

The 36-year-old, who is currently pregnant with her first child, could not or would not provide any details about her new role. Aside from the hiring of Aziz Ansari last month, not much is known about the show. It’s actually now being reported that the comedy will not be a spinoff after all; it may instead be a stand-alone series.

When Poehler will depart from the late-night program is not clear at this point. The comedienne says she intends to stay on through at least the elections. After that time, fans can see Amy in her new project when it airs Thursdays @ 9:30 p.m. this winter.
