Survivor: China: ‘I Lost Two Hands and Possibly a Shoulder!’

Survivor ChinaHaving just won another Immunity Challenge, Fei Long got to rest comfortably at home.  Unfortunately, Jean-Robert’s snoring and touchy-feely ways made it an uneasy night for any woman positioned next to him.  As Leslie put it, Jean-Robert simply didn’t understand ‘the social game of Survivor’.

At Zhan Hu, Peih-gee was urging worker bee Dave to settle down and rest.  She was worried he’d overexert himself and wind up useless in yet another challenge.  He, of course, brushed her off and insisted he was fine.  Later, when the other tribe members made a question about the fire pit, Dave quickly interrupted his nap to fix the situation himself.  Despite having recently been on the chopping block, he continued to play the annoying martyr.

For their next reward, the two tribes were presented with a Battle of the Sexes physical challenge.  The two teams of three, separated over the water by two boats and two planks, would have to strategically confront each other for the brutal takedowns.  The last person standing would earn a point for their team; three team points would win the challenge.

Surprisingly without wrestler Ashley on their side, the ladies of Zhan Hu did remarkably well.  They handily earned two points on their own.  Unfortunately, their male counterparts didn’t fare as well.  Despite Dave’s ‘fight nude’ strategy, James and the Fei Long men easily dominated the testosterone battles.  Faced with match point, the Zhan Hu ladies sealed the deal and won their first challenge.  For their reward, they got to take pillows, kerosene, rope, blankets, a lantern and a tarp back to their side.  They were also forced to temporarily kidnap an opposing team member.  Leslie, the woman Jaime deemed ‘weak’ last week, got the honor this time around.

Back at camp, Leslie sincerely told Zhan Hu that she was happy for their team win.  In return, they somehow fooled her into believing that their camp’s morale was high despite their two losses.  Feeling all warm and accepted, Leslie’s loose lips eventually gave away valuable Fei Long secrets.  She willing told the yellow team about her tribe’s strong personalities.  She also divulged the name of her tribe’s leader (Aaron).  Later, Leslie read the secret scroll Jeff Probst gave her before leaving to Zhan Hu.  It was similar to the one Jaime had given her last week.  As a thank you, Leslie returned the favor to her new friend.

Back at Fei Long, Jean-Robert and James were busy talking strategy.  Unbeknownst to them, Courtney and Todd were within earshot.  The two men discussed either kicking off Leslie (‘Sister Christian’) or weak Courtney.  Unfortunately, Courtney had to overhear Jean-Robert debate keeping her around for James.  As he said, nothing beats a million dollars like ‘$1 million and some a**’.  Disgusted, Todd said that they needed to ‘get rid of the trash’ soon.

The teams later reunited for the Immunity Challenge where Leslie returned to her tribe.  For the immunity idol, the teams needed four people to chop through a bunch of wooden beams.  The beams would eventually release bundles of wooden discs; these discs would then be stacked in a puzzle by two other tribe members.  Unfortunately for Fei Long, the battle was completely lopsided from the get-go.  While competitors from Zhan Hu were tearing through their wooden beams, Courtney was still trying to figure out how to wield a machete.  Because the other members of Fei Long couldn’t start until she finished, they were light years behind – or so it seemed.  Although the Yellow Team had already finished retrieving all their discs by the time Courtney got hers, they struggled a bit with their puzzle.  The Red Team rallied and made significant progress, but Zhan Hu managed to pull it out in the end.  Finally, their first Immunity Challenge win.

Back at camp, the members of Fei Long for some reason tried to comfort Courtney about her pathetic performance.  Jean-Robert was relieved by the challenge’s outcome.  He felt assured it would work in his favor.  Courtney’s weak performance only proved the need for strength in the tribe.  Meanwhile, Leslie made the mistake of revealing too many details about her trip to Zhan Hu.  She told her tribe she felt welcomed at the their camp, most likely because there were three other Christians there.  She also naively admitted that she revealed Aaron’s position in Fei Long – though she said it was something former visitor Jaime had already known.  Needless to say, this new information did not sit well with Leslie’s fellow tribe members.  Should they ever get to a merge, would she feel comfortable aligning with people from Zhan Hu?

The whole tribe was divided on whom to eliminate first.  While Todd was set on eliminating strong and ‘trashy’ competitors like Jean-Robert or James, others felt that a potentially backstabbing Leslie was the bigger threat.  In the end, strong arms outweighed loose lips.  LOSER: Leslie.
