Sharon Osbourne Taking a Break From The Talk

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Daytime, Talk Shows, CBS, Announcements, News,

Sharon OsbourneSharon Osbourne is taking a break from The Talk to spend more time with her husband. The 58-year-old star insists she is not leaving the discussion program for good, but she will not be on the panel when the show returns after its summer break in September because she wants to be with her spouse, rocker Ozzy Osbourne when he comes off tour.

"I've kept it no secret that I really miss my husband. He'll have been on tour for 18 months by the time it's over. I've spent a lot of time away from him. He gets a break at the end of September and so I've asked for a little break so I can be with him. I don't want to give it up. It's a great, great show. We've all worked really hard over the last year. I'm not going to walk away from that. I just need some real good quality time to be with my hubby."

One reason Sharon wants to return is the close bond she has with co-hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini: "I'm very close to the women on the show. I didn't think that I would be [because] none of us knew each other going into it. We just didn't know each other socially."

Sharon's close friend, however, America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon thinks The Talk will struggle without her. "She's marvelous. She's the caregiver to us all. She just calms us all down."

The Talk is a highly-anticipated new talk show, scheduled to debut on CBS October 18. Each of the six women are mothers, with children ranging in ages. They will spend their time discussing current events, sharing stories and talking to the studio audience. Somewhere in the midst of it all, they’ll take the time to conduct interviews with celebs.

NBC has revealed the fourteen stars who will make up the new cast. The show, scheduled for a March premiere, features a mix that includes a disgraced politician, a former comedian, even a TV chef.

, Sharon Osbourne, Cyndi Lauper, Darryl Strawberry, Michael Johnson, Holly Robinson Peete, Goldberg, Carol Leifer, Sinbad, Summer Sanders, Maria Kanellis, Curtis Stone and Angel Selita Ebanks will be joined by former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich to compete for their chance to work for Donald Trump.
