‘Bionic Woman’ Hires Mechanic

NBC’s uber-hyped action drama Bionic Woman is in desperate need of a little oil around the joints. Never mind the fact that I like the show, or that star Michelle Ryan is a freakin’ gorgeous Alicia Silverstone look-alike - it still runs slower than Miss Teen South Carolina’s thought process. Enter Jason Cahill, a.k.a. that award-winning writer from The Sopranos. He joins a team that includes Friday Night Lights’ Jason Katims, who is pulling double duty so he can serve as “consultant” for the poorly assembled Woman. The show will certainly go the way of the Dodo bird as it is, unless Cahill can pick up the pace and save NBC the trouble of filling a Wednesday timeslot.

The Bionic Woman Premieres Tonight
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Action, NBC, Gossip, Ratings,
Still struggling to find a ratings hit for the fall season, NBC has dipped into the cutting room closet to resurrect a show that failed in the first place. For some reason, I’m thinking the newly revamped Bionic Woman isn’t going to work. Call it intuition if you like, but I’m basing my prediction on the past. It didn’t work the first time. Why should it become a hit the second? This time, the Bionic Woman (Jaime) will be played by Michelle Ryan. She’s a pregnant bartender on her way to Paris. Then, the terrible automobile accident strikes, and Jaime is left sans limbs. Her boyfriend just happens to be part of a special ops prosthetic program, which he uses to secretly rebuild her. The result is a very pissed-off woman who uses her new bionic limbs to kick some serious butt. Will it last past one season? Check it out tonight at 9/8c on NBC and decide.
