Taylor Swift to Host Saturday Night Live

Too bad Kanye West doesn’t have a tour to distract him right now.
It’s just been announced that the rapper’s last victim, country star Taylor Swift, will be pulling double duty on Saturday Night Live next month. The gig - which had been planned since this summer - will come less than a year after the “Fifteen” singer served as the musical guest. (Her small cameo in a Broadway-themed skit can be seen after the jump.)
So what kind of sketches can we expect the 19-year-old to participate in? “I’ve been thinking about skit ideas for a long time,” Swift told the Associated Press. “There are definitely some hilarious things that have happened to me over the past couple of months that I think will be pretty substantial skits.”

Megan Fox is the Host With the Most
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video
So the sources were true—Megan Fox will indeed be hosting the season premiere of Saturday Night Live.
In the promo clips for the show, which airs on NBC this Saturday night at 11 p.m., Fox jokes with SNL cast member Andy Samberg (focusing yet again on all of the “hot” jokes surrounding the Transformers star).
At one point, Samberg tells Megan, “God, you are so beautiful,” to which she realizes he was talking about a guy standing next to her.

Two New Females to Join SNL Cast
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Renewals

UPDATE: Michaela Watkins and Casey Wilson have both been let go from the show.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, two of SNL’s strongest female cast members, have moved on to other projects. So who will step into their shoes? Many are anticipating the arrival of two new women on the set, but this is a huge disservice to one who’s been quietly waiting for a chance to step into the spotlight.
Jenny Slate and Nasim Pedrad could be two bright spots in the upcoming 35th season of Saturday Night Live, both coming from comedy backgrounds. But SNL already has a funny female to light skits on fire; Kristen Wiig has been on the show for a few years now, and always manages to score laughs.

Megan Fox to Host Saturday Night Live?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Gossip, Rumors
So how do you like your Megan Fox? Do you like her fighting off robots? Killing teenage boys? Or do you like her cracking a joke?
According to Life & Style magazine, the Transformers hottie will be the first host of Saturday Night Live‘s upcoming season. An insider reports that late-night program will give the actress an opportunity to showcase her comedic skills. “She has a lot of surprises in store for the audience,” the source claimed.
What could we possibly expect to see on that September 26th show? A digital short with SNL vet Andy Samberg is rumored to be one of the sketches.
Fox also has another project debuting shortly. Jennifer’s Body, co-starring Amanda Seyfried, opens on September 18.

Samberg Spoofs Slumdog and Twilight in MTV Movie Awards Open
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Cable, MTV, Video
If you’re anything like me, the MTV Movie Awards is painful waste of your time. The ceremony is only a step above the People’s Choice Awards (thanks to the caliber of celebrities), but equally as credible.
That said, Andy Samberg’s performance - and Bruno’s encounter with Eminem - made this year’s broadcast slightly easier to swallow. After watching him spoof several of the year’s most popular films (Twilight, Star Trek, Slumdog Millionaire, The Reader), check out Andy’s musical commentary on explosions after the jump.

VIDEO: Justin Timberlake Proves He’s a Motherlover on SNL

Could Justin Timberlake be on his way to winning another Emmy?
On last night’s episode of Saturday Night Live, the singer-dancer-actor gave his mom one more reason to be proud. Justin, with the help of Andy Samberg, followed up their now classic “Dick in a Box” performance with a song dedicated to all the mothers out there.

Video: SNL Girlfriend Voice skit
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Prime Time, NBC, Saturday Night Live
I was just able to catch this past week’s episode of SNL (Season 34, episode 20), and for some reason, this skit had me rolling. If you saw it, it’s the one where three guys are trying to plan a bachelor party, but keep getting interrupted by phone calls. It starts with their girlfriends calling, and each of them talking on the phone using their “girlfriend voice”—that’s right guys, you are not alone on that one. If you haven’t seen it, check it out above. Good times.
Busy Weekend Ahead for SNL
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live
Even though there are no more debates left to mock, Saturday Night Live has still managed to stack this weekend’s show. And surprisingly, the news is not entirely about politics.
Since Josh Brolin was announced as the October 18 host, it’s been assumed that the actor would do a small screen version of his work on W. But in a recent interview with People magazine, the No Country for Old Men star joked (?) that viewers might be seeing more than one George Bush that night.
“Expect a lot of fun and some surprising moments. There’s a good chance that W. [himself] may appear in a skit. You’ll have to watch to find out.”
And while a real-life POTUS appearance is anybody’s guess, we do know one politician who will be appearing this Saturday: Sarah Palin. Although she was reportedly scheduled for an October 25 visit, the McCain-Palin camp has confirmed the publicity stunt campaign stop will happen tomorrow.

Mark Wahlberg Unable to Laugh at SNL
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Late Night, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Video
UPDATE: Wahlberg is now reportedly set to appear on Saturday Night Live.
Although he created a show (Entourage) that makes fun of celebrities, Mark Wahlberg apparently doesn’t like being made fun of. At least he didn’t the way Saturday Night Live did it. When asked his thoughts on the recent Andy Samberg sketch (which can be seen above), the Max Payne star admitted he hasn’t even followed SNL in quite some time.

Justin Timberlake Wins Emmy For HIs ‘D—- In A Box’
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Award Shows, Comedy, Late Night, Music, Prime Time, FOX, NBC, Saturday Night Live, Internet
Just a day before racking up Moon Men at the VMAs, Justin Timberlake added a more significant statue to his mantle: an Emmy. It’s probably the only award he received last weekend that was actually about a video.
Timberlake and Andy Samberg‘s work on the digital short, ‘D—- In A Box’, earned them the Outstanding Original Music & Lyrics honor at Saturday’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The performance, which originally aired on Saturday Night Live last December, has been an internet favorite ever since.
Does an award for this racy segment mean the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has suddenly become hip? Probably not, but we can always hope. Be looking for the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards to air this Sunday (9/16) on FOX.
