Will Celebrities Shine in Trump’s World?

Poker players. TV personalities. Recording artists. Athletes. What do they all have in common? They all want to learn from . Or, they at least want to give that appearance while they collect a paycheck from NBC.

Reality TV has now become much more a medium for quasi- and has-been celebs, rather than an unscripted jaunt where ordinary folks get their chance to shine. But what the hell? Donald Trump is always fun, so why not another season of The Celebrity Apprentice? At this point, NBC’s willing to try anything.

So who makes up the star-studded cast? Mother-daughter team Joan and will join Tionne Watkins (T-Boz of TLC), Brande Roderick (Baywatch), reality TV vet Khloe Kardashian, Annie Duke (reigning poker queen), Natalie Gulbis (pro golfer) and Claudia Jordan (Deal or No Deal winner) to make up the female team.

They’ll be pit against Jesse James (Monster Garage), toilet humor king Tom Green, figure skater Scott Hamilton, Dennis Rodman, comedian Andrew Dice Clay, NFL star Herschel Walker, Clint Black and Brian McKnight.

Ivanka and Donald Jr. will join Daddy in the boadroom. Different judges will be featured every week as each celeb vies for money to put toward a charitable organization of their choice. The second edition of premieres in March.

This is one of those ideas that make you wonder what they’re thinking.  Do people really want to watch celebrities compete in tasks for Donald Trump when they really don’t need the money, job, or exposure?

I’d be shocked if any A-list celebrity committed to participating, but I suspect charity will be involved, as well as some level of pampering or exotic locale.
