VIDEO: Michael Vick Talks to 60 Minutes

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, CBS, News, Video

He’s served time behind bars and been forced to declare bankruptcy—but has paid enough for his involvement in the dogfighting ring?

In an interview to air this weekend, the new Philadelphia Eagle will plead his case and explain why he should be allowed a second chance. (The NFL is only allowing the quarterback to participate on a conditional basis right now.) Despite his eagerness to return to the game, Vick tells CBS Sports’ James Brown that he laments his inexcusable actions more than his lost career. “I mean, football don’t even matter,” Michael claims. (What a crock of…)

The entire interview will air on this Sunday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

Couple a basketball tournament overrun with a President Obama interview and what do you get? A nice way to start the evening for CBS. Despite hot competition from Desperate Housewives, the Eye network won both the viewers and the demos last night.

Captain Sullenberger to Visit CBS Programs

Captain Chelsey SullenbergerUPDATE: CBS’ The Early Show will also devote its entire broadcast on Monday to the Hudson River landing.

After weeks of minimal public appearances, Capt. Chelsey Sullenberger is ready to tell his story.

The heroic pilot of Flight 1549 will have his first sit-down chat with Katie Couric on Sunday, February 8th. Although he was once scheduled to speak with Matt Lauer about that Hudson River landing, CBS somehow managed to steal that exclusive right out from under NBC’s foot.

Two days after that interview, “Sully,” along with the rest of his US Airways crew, will hit up the Late Show with David Letterman.

Last night’s interview on 60 Minutes attracted approximately 24.5 million, the show’s best numbers in 9 years. This performance helped CBS win the night with the viewers, though it wasn’t enough to take the demos from NBC.
