Lisa Kudrow Joins Courteney Cox on Cougar Town
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, Gossip, Video
Jennifer Aniston has already returned to TV to kiss Courteney Cox, so now it’s Lisa Kudrow’s turn to get her hands dirty. The former Friends star will soon reunite with her former cast member on an episode of Cougar Town.
Although the two haven’t worked together on-screen since parting ways in 2004, the ladies have appeared together off-screen. Just last month, Kudrow and Cox attended a charity function for Feeding America. During that event, Lisa was encouraged to do a special performance of “Smelly Cat.” (You can see the video above.)
Lisa, who played a masseuse on the NBC comedy, will once again work with skin during her ABC guest stint. She’ll now star as a mean - but highly-effective - dermatologist Jules “can’t stop going to.”
Look for Kudrow sometime in early 2010.

Preview ABC’s Version of Scrubs
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, ABC, Scrubs, Video
The time has finally come. After seven years on NBC, Scrubs will soon make ABC its new home.
So what changes, if any, should we expect from the relocated the series? Judging from the promo above, not much. I mean - if you don’t count that that new sexy Chief of Medicine. (Courteney Cox Arquette will appear on the program’s first three episodes.)
What do you think of the new teaser? Did it do enough to make you switch networks come January 6th?

Courteney Cox Scrubs In at Sacred Heart

What could possibly irritate Dr. Cox more than Dr. Kelso? Having a female Cox as his boss.
When Scrubs returns for its eighth season, viewers will have to get used to more than just a channel change. They’ll also be seeing a new person sitting in the Chief of Medicine’s chair this fall.
In a three-episode stint, Courteney Cox Arquette will assume Kelso’s role and roam the halls of Sacred Grace Heart. Thanks to FX’s cancellation of her series, the actress now has a new place to combine the bitchy persona she tried on Dirt with the comedic talent she honed on Friends.
According to an EW source, Arquette’s character will “ruffle feathers.” So shall we thank ABC now for giving us the opportunity to witness Perry’s pain?

Will There Be a Friends Movie?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Prime Time, NBC, Gossip, News, Rumors

Sex and the City broke box office records. Get Smart had a first place finish. Why shouldn’t there be a Friends movie?
According to UK’s Daily Mail, a big-screen adaptation of the NBC hit has finally been greenlighted. Although a reunion seemed extremely unlikely when the comedy ended in 2004, the success of SATC has apparently given the show’s main six hope.
And while Jennifer Aniston could definitely do without the paycheck, she is reportedly willing to play along. “Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances,” said a source.
If the story is true, production on the Warner Bros. feature may begin within the next 18 months. Could I be more excited?

FX Cancels Courteney Cox’s Dirt
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, FX, Cancellations
Although she tried hard to set aside her nice girl persona, fans apparently had a tough time accepting Courteney Cox Arquette as a badass. Either that, or they simply didn’t like her show.
After only 2 years on air (1.5 if you take the writers’ strike into account), Arquette’s Dirt has been yanked from the FX network. Interestingly enough, this is about the same length of time Matt LeBlanc’s Joey managed to stay on air. The drama also hung around longer than Matthew Perry’s Studio 60 and Lisa Kudrow’s The Comeback.
Despite earning 3.7 million viewers for its January 2007 debut, the program eventually experienced a dramatic decline. By April, Dirt‘s second season finale was down to 1.06 million. I guess that kiss with gal pal Aniston didn’t have much lasting power.

This Week on TV (3/17-3/23)
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Animation, Comedy, Drama, Kids, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Cable, CBS, FX, FOX, NBC, The CW, America's Next Top Model, Dancing With The Stars, Lost, Survivor, The Bachelor

(You can view TV Envy’s Post-Strike Television Schedule here.)
MONDAY (3/17)
- Dancing with the Stars (ABC, 8pm): Tonight’s Season 6 premiere focuses only on the men. I think it’s safe to say Julianne Hough won’t be making it a three-peat with Adam Carolla.
- The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8pm): New episode. “Sheldon and Leonard are asked to a physics conference to present their work together.” I’ve always wondered - if this show were to air on any other day, would it be half as successful?
- How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8:30): New episode. “Ted decides to live life like Barney on St. Patrick’s Day.” You don’t want to know what they use as their lucky charms.
- Two and a Half Men (CBS, 9pm): New episode. “Charlie teaches Alan how to break up with a woman.” I hear hiring prostitutes can make a woman leave you.
- The Bachelor (ABC, 9:30): Season 12 premiere. “Bachelor Matt Grant, a 27-year-old British financier, meets his 25 would-be soul mates.” Apparently in America, you can finally afford to woo twice as many women as you can in the UK.

MONDAY (2/25)
- A Raisin in the Sun (ABC, 8pm): Diddy and the rest of his Broadway cast bring the play to the small screen. I’m sorry - I believe his theater name is Sean Combs.
- The Moment of Truth (FOX, 8pm): Special night. Apparently this episode is so controversial, the producers debated airing it. Then they realized what network they were on and just went with it.
- Welcome to the Captain (CBS, 8:30): “Hope makes some new friends so she won’t be alone on Friday nights.” Their names? Jack and Daniels.
- Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious (CW, 9pm): “The women receive a surprise visit from JC Chasez.” They, too, are wondering why he doesn’t have anything better to do.

Renewals Aplenty at FX
Posted by Wendy Michaels Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Cable, Nip/Tuck, Cable/Satellite, DVR, Ratings, Renewals
At least there’s one network that’s not so quick to cancel every new series. FX has announced that freshman series Dirt and The Riches will both be back for a second run. While I couldn’t get into Dirt, it seems to get solid ratings (and that kiss between Courteney Cox-Arquette and Jennifer Aniston probably didn’t hurt either). I couldn’t wait to see The Riches because I’m a huge fan of Eddie Izzard, however, I haven’t had the time to keep up. Thank goodness for DVR! After watching the first two episodes, I’ve been recording the others and will have a bunch of episodes to catch up on once all of the other season finales are over with. FX president John Landgraf commented, “FX now has six original dramas, more than any network in the history of cable television, cementing the network’s status as a leader in quality original series.” Dirt pulled in about 5.2 million vieweres per week, while The Riches drew 5.9 million. Rescue Me returns on June 13th, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia comes back for season three in September, and new seasons of Nip/Tuck and 30 Days will come later in the year.
